I am definitely still an amateur when it comes to photography, so I would consider this picture a lucky one :)
It was a couple of years back when I took this picture and it was particularly snowy and colder than average. There was this beautiful forest in my back yard where I lived and I used to enjoy taking a stroll in the woods. There is nothing quite like it. It is easy to get lost in this natural world of beauty.
Then the sun came out and as it was already fairly strong and it started to melt the snow a bit. The tree branches were loaded with snow; it was a true winter wonderland. As the snow melted there was the occasional Crack-Tshh that came from the trees and the falling snow. In the shadows of the giants the snow was still quite fluffy and powdery. So as the snow fell on the branches on its way down it released a spectacle of a million little sparkles onto the world. Like fairy dust it fell slowly to the ground.
Then again Crack-Tshhh-Zap. Some snow fell and I managed to capture this image of it.
The sun back lit the scene so the fine detail of the falling snow was revealed. There was even the sparkly flash of light on the lens which I managed to capture.
Looking at this picture, it is like being taken to this place and time again. I am standing in the woods again, a whole day of wonder still to explorer...
