So I have a semi irrational fear of boats, bad experience as a kid and I have been avoiding them ever since. I would not call this a boat but rather a mini ferry, nothing like being on a zodiac. The Prince of Whales is a good tour service here in Victoria Canada, the whole package was a gift but the cost of $389 was well worth it.
My anxiety over the fear of the boat ride was exhausting but all said and done the worry was not necessary. Very stable boat and for someone like myself, with a fear of boats, it was still rather relaxing. We spent 3 1/2 hrs on the water, little bit long for me.
I took off my hat so it would not fly away once the boat started moving, such a fast boat. This was a mistake as I ended up with a sunburn where the hat had wiped off my sunscreen so only on my forehead.
I conquered another fear with this one, all in the name of passion. It is my passion for vlogging and blogging which brings me to facing these things. The joy of challenging myself and learning a new skill or doing something different previously I would not have. To get the shots I want I will need to keep on the journey of self growth and face my fears head on.
I am finding my fears being offset by the support I have gained through interaction with all of the communities I’m involved in. Let’s break it down, fear of being on camera, fear of public speaking, fear of heights, fear of boats, fear of rejection. I have even sung on camera, mind you very terribly but I did it and no one said anything negative about my efforts.
Steemit has been a grand experience for me, never when I started did I expect success. Never did I expect to conquer my fears rather I was just searching for a distraction. Steemit you are a welcomed and healthy distraction.
