Greetings, today I want to share this illustration for the Art Contest of Splinterlands. Draw a Griffin, a mythical creature formed by an eagle and a lion, inspired by a new card from the Untamed edition of Splinterlands, the Tower Griffin card. The finished work is this:
Step by step illustration
I started with the lineart of the eagle's head of the monster.
Then with the body and wings, only the part corresponding to the eagle.
Legs and front claws
Then I proceeded with the lineart of the back of the body, corresponding to the lion.
The tail of the lion
After finishing the entire lineart, I proceeded to color the drawing. I used brown and yellow tones for the eagle part (Feather Zone) and blue and gray tones for the front legs and the back. Some screenshots of this coloring process are shown below.
Shadows and lights
Finally I added the gradient background between green and blue with some effects for the shadow of the monsters on the floor.
