Sometimes 'just ask' is really all you have to do.
Today I read @krnel's post 'Does Steem Have More Useful dApps Than Other Chains?' pointed out to me by @taskmaster4450 (here), which asks the following question about stateofthedapps.com.
Where is Steem? Where are all the Steem dApps listed on that site? Apparently, a site called State of the dApps doesn't consider Steem dApps relevant, at all.
You only have to look at the site to understand what @krnel means: only Ethereum, EOS and POA are even mentioned as 'platforms' that host dApps.
I stumbled upon @markkujantunen's comment that suggested we should add our dApps via a submission form to 'stateofthedapps.com' - and since I hadn't yet noticed I could only pick 1 of 3 platforms (instead of a 'free text' field) to choose from, I was already half-way filling in the form when I realized I was not able to send in the form. Bummer!
Frustrated, I immediately went to twitter of all places and asked the question:
Just now I got a reply, and I couldn't be happier:
Plus, they gave me an opening to brag! I decided to limit myself to only 1 tweet mentioning @steemmonsters, @steemhunt, @actifit, @musing, @partiko and @dtube, @steempeak and @vimm, also to show the variety of dApps we already have.
Now, I made them a promise, so please don't make me look like a liar if they indeed do add us!
Fingers crossed guys! I learned one thing today: sometimes 'just asking' is really all you have to do! Cheers!
UPDATE 14 hours later: Now @oracle-d has asked their community to 'storm the tweet' and name some dApps that should be included on stateofthedapps.com I'll include the link to my tweet, didn't seem important before, but now it is ;-) Enjoy!
UPDATE 18 hours later: Sometimes different people caring about the same causes... it leads to epic coincidences. @therealwolf has been working for the past few weeks on SteemApps.com, and it's even based in part on the stateofthedapps.com code! As I said to him as well, I believe there's both use for SteemApps.com as a dedicated Steem Apps overview and having 'our' apps displayed amongst apps from other Blockchains - so it's pretty awesome both are now (becoming) a reality. Check out Wolf's SteemApps.com and bookmark it for future reference!
