Yes! After organizing two meet-ups in the Netherlands it's now time to join one arranged by others: in this case the lovely @redrica, a real 'meetup junkie' if you ask me, is calling for the time and place, next Wednesday in Central London.
I checked flights and train tickets, made the calculations, looked at my almost empty FIAT wallet, checked STEEM prices again (nope, still not cash out time! :')), closed my eyes and clicked the buy train tickets button! I know London is freaking expensive but hell, what is more valuable than meeting and chatting and hugging fellow Steemians?
Especially after SteemFest which left me on a high for weeks after, I do appreciate the smaller scale meet-ups as well - I think my quite introverted personality has a better chance of surviving those, and instead of just observing and trying to process all the impressions, I can engage a bit more, as I'll be a bit less overwhelmed.
Some non-Steemians ask me 'what do you get out of these meet-ups' but of course that's almost indescribable if you've never experienced them. The level of connection even though very different people come together is just magical and makes me feel part of an invisible plateau where we are all connected through other labels than we'd use in 'normal life'.
So yeah, Steem Meet-ups are my thing, and I'll probably go to Aachen next month as well because darling @detlev has been asking me to join him for a few beers as well :-)
Hmmm - who are coming?
Checking @redrica's post and comments I'm expecting to see again after SteemFest @teodora, @steevc, @mrprofessor, @adetorrent, possibly @revisesociology and of course @redrica herself :D
New for me will be, if they are able to make it, @ultravioletmag, @ezzy, @rea, @dougalporteous, @susanlo, @veritanuda, @yasminep, @zool237, @travelling-two, and @kabir88.
Well, that's what I call an impressive group of people! :D
