Is your lighting at home monotonous and boring? Want something different to boast to your friends? How about spicing up the ambiance with cute and romantic lighting? Or maybe you just need an alternative source of lighting? This product is the answer. What's so unique about it is: it is not an artificial plant but a real one!

The researchers packaged three components - luciferase, the enzyme that gives fireflies their glow, luceferin and co-enzyme A which was further processed and injected into the plants. The result, as I quote from the website;

The researchers’ early efforts at the start of the project yielded plants that could glow for about 45 minutes, which they have since improved to 3.5 hours. The light generated by one 10-centimeter watercress seedling is currently about one-thousandth of the amount needed to read by, but the researchers believe they can boost the light emitted, as well as the duration of light.
