Ohh This Beautifully Over Complicated Platform
Grab a Coffee we go No BS straight to the point.
#1 Build Reputation
I have found that the number one rule of engagement here is quality activity! So before you start posting all your great ideas only to see no interest, build your following.
- Absorb content and leave thoughtful comments in areas of interest, I have found a few people to follow that were outside my usual scope of interest.
- Upvote your own comments for greater visibility, this doesnt seem to be frowned upon until your vote is actually worth something but you still see most do it anyways.
- Join in on Trending/Hot topics easy way to gain reputation if you happen to catch an upvote.
#2 Power Up
When you first start Steemit you as a new user are delegated(loaned) 15 SP until you can accumulate your own, till you break this 15 SP barrier you will be at the whim of delegation fluctuation causing for me “bandwidth limit reached” on my first day.
- Buy or Buy Delegation(when available) from BlockTrades.us
- Once I broke 30 SP I have not had a bandwidth restriction
- Power Up Rewards from your wallet by simply clicking Redeem Rewards
- Buy Steem with SBD use the internal market, convert SBD, Power Up
Powering up gives you greater chance of higher rewards, also makes your vote count for more even for self votes.
#3 Quality Content
If you want followers don’t just spam everything you see VIA resteem as this will cause many to stop following you. Each of us has a different need of our feed but I doubt anyone appreciates having to scan through a flood of garbage. Everything is based on your own ability and some may wish to watch you grow so showcase yourself and talents respectively.
- Original Content is the most likely to be rewarded.
- Authorship always include media in your post atleast one picture, no picture no view.
- Proof Read EVERYTHING make sure your not clogging up the network or using bandwidth with constant corrections. Posts cannot be deleted after the first few minutes be certain you want to share it.
- Reply to Comments every time you get one atleast take the time to read it, if interested investigate the user for possible follow. Your followers will appreciate being heard.
- ReSteem articles you have commented on, it helps those you follow and help get more visibility on your comment. Happenstance your follower will most likely upvote your comment if seen.
- Never Beg not supported here don’t do it! Rather give ideas and questions!?
- Dont Spam and never follow back without investigating the users content, never.
- Publish atleast one article(or resteem) a day, try different tags, break larger articles into smaller pieces publishing atleast 4ish hours apart increase viewing audience.
- @mention everyone you reply to, everyone you take inspiration from, the author to which you have linked to their post like so...
@joeparys Thank You! For the great Udemy Steemit begginers video. Is it still free for newbies? Joe really puts his best foot forward when it comes to teaching others, I highly suggest you follow @joeparys.
@jerrybanfield Thank You! For all you do in our community and as a Witness. Most importantly your post for leading me to @busy & @dmania. I have voted @jerrybanfield for Witness go to https://steemit.com/~witnesses to vote @jerrybanfield if you like his initiate aswell.
@juliakponsford I found your post very enlightening, I found it days after joining steemit helped me a lot and I am now a follower, congratulation on your 2k milestone!
@adonisabril your direction from your post to @resteemable and @originalworks has been appreciated, please continue to bring your positivity to this community.
From what I have read so far, if you wish to generate the most income from your curation and commenting on others posts you will want to.
- Voting Power above 80%, vote worth more get more in return go to steemd.com/@yourname for information
- 30min post age for comments from all I have read points to highest returns, relative to the algorithm used for generating payouts.
- Self Vote while you are trying to grow it is not frowned upon unless you have no other activity from what I can tell.
#5 Increase Visibility
- Busy.org @busy is what I use for posting with the tag “busy”, busy is an excellent portal and offers 1 upvote valued between $.40-$1 for use of their portal for publishing with their tag “busy”.
- @resteemable free service, enter your article by adding re infront of steemit.com/@yourname/yourarticle this will bring you too a pay for upvote screen. You may choose to “donate” to receive a upvote on your post submission or leave that page knowing your post has been submitted.
- @curie <— I haven’t done this one, but I read its great for high quality content producers
- Tag @originalworks in a reply to your own post for a free upvote, I have not recieved an upvote as of yet but I am still trying
- Pay for Upvote many individuals run upvote bots or services, I have yet to test this but I do see results on others posts. Example ReSteemit.com after submission screen.
#6 Contests & Giveaways
There are many contest on this platform, the trouble is finding one that suits your talents. Giveaways on the other hand can come in the form as a simple follow or resteem.
- Highlight your Talents by finding contests & giveaways you may qualify for then resteeming for increased visibility.
- @peerquery is a great platform for contests and giveaways alike, this portal is aimed at promoting the best of the best for benefit of the community. PeerQuery.com
Topics that I wish to research further to bring my findings too you are:
- delegation & rewards
- voting bots
- autovote
