Giving away some code

As I get to know Steemit better and become more invested in its success, I look for more ways that my skills can contribute. And what I realized is that there are a lot of great resources created by the community about Steem and Steemit, but because one has to go searching for them, they're not always readily accessible.

Given the fact that each one of our posts also serves as a witness to this platform and to this blockchain, you never know which of your posts shared on another social media site might be the first to introduce someone to Steemit. After responding to a post by @lexiconical about the DDoS attack against Steemit, it became clear to me that more information was still needed to spread awareness about how the blockchain works. Those realizations have led me to explore how I can turn my posts into a resource that can help introduce non-Steemians to the platform.

I've done that by creating a post signature that contains permanent links to resources that will help non-users and onboard new users, and have started to include this signature at the bottom of every post I publish.

Below is the HTML code for the first solid version of this signature. I've placed it in a code block so you can copy and paste it at the bottom of your own posts.

Let's use this to help bring more people to Steemit

As you can see, I've included links to official Steemit resources, as well as user created Steemit apps. There is also a link to @heiditravels YouTube channel, which I've found to be quite helpful to new users and crypto-newbies in general, and Steem.center, which has quickly become an invaluable resource for me as I explore this platform.

If there are any resources that you think I've missed and should be included, please message me in the comments below and I'll consider including them in the next version.

I'm not a great coder, but I know enough to make a post look good, and I figure that I can start using those skills to give back to the community. Since I am giving the community my code, if you use it, please keep the "Signature created by @joshpeterson." tag at the bottom of it so I still get credit.

If you liked this post, please consider sharing, commenting, and upvoting.

Thank you for reading,

- Josh
