Dear Steemit Friends,
This is already the 11th month of my journey on Steemit. Things had been busy so I am a bit late in reporting this month.
These monthly milestones are done with the intention of helping new Steemians who have just embarked into the unknown land of Steemit. I remember how lost I was in the first 3 months, thus I decided to keep writing these monthly reports to help newbies see the potential future ahead on Steemit.
Followers: 2119
Finally, this month, my reputation score went up to 69. It remained at 68 for a few months.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the 2119 Steemit followers for your constant support. It's great to know who my audience is when I write these Steemit posts.
Secret to Success on Steemit: Keep Blogging
I've been thinking a lot in the past week about what tips to give to my followers on this 11th month. I finally came to this conclusion: Train yourself to keep blogging. This is really what Steemit is about. First and foremost, it is a blogging platform.
Most people fail on Steemit because they lose interest in blogging. They lose the momentum to keep them going for their blogs. Why? They are spending too much time looking for the rewards in the pay out. If you want to succeed on Steemit, take your eyes off there and keep on blogging. Worry about the money later. This is the key to success.
My Many Interests
I came into steemit with the desire to blog only about my travels thus the username @rosatravels is picked. For all these months, I still blog about my travels (still stuck on the hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia) but not as intensely as I would want to because other interests have come into my Steemit life. This is where we need to make adjustments along the way to accommodate all these good interruptions.

Training myself to write more 'professional blogs'
Even though many fascinating platforms had taken over my original intention of blogging my travels, one thing I suddenly realize is that there is a common thread in them: BLOGGING!
On this 11th month in Steemit, I find myself 'blogging' about not only my travels, but also about my love for the translation category and promoting Steemhunt open source hunts at the same time. So in July, I started writing substantial blogs about these two platforms. It has been a very interesting experience as I needed to gather information and resources to write blogs more professionally. So in the month of July, this is my new venture on Steemit - write more professsionally formatted blogs for Steemit. Can you believe it - I had actually written 5 already?
1. July 9th - Promoting Translation in Utopian-io: Fully alive and Stronger
2. July 12th - Promoting Open Source on SteemHunt - How To find OS products & Grow Your Audience
3. July 14th - Promoting Translation in Utopian.io - Growing Quality Teams
4. July 17th - Promoting Translation in Utopian.io - Growing Performance in First Group of Translation teams
5. July 19th - Promoting Open Source on Steemhunt - 3 Popular Open Source Hunts You can use Today!
You can train yourself to BLOG
In one of the Utopian managers meetings back in May, I heard that there were not too many people writing blogs. I also never gave it much thought as my skill was doing translation, writing tutorials, and doing video-tutorials for Open Source softwares.
Blogging seems to be a "different" beast which I thought I would not temper. I was wrong. I just started contributing my work in the blogging category and am learning how to be more skillful along the way. The process is actually a lot of fun!
Tutorial - Learn Blog Formatting
If you find yourself in the same boat as I am and that you find blogging is difficult, you are correct. It is difficult. But you can train yourself to blog. As time goes on, words will flow and you learn how to format your blogs professionally.
A major part of learning to blog is to know how to 'format' your blog to look professional. Writing is important but formatting is just as important.
As I started learning to blog more professionally, I used @espoem fantastic tutorial on blogging - how to make your posts look great in Steemit and Busy.. I followed his tutorial on how to do images, how to format images, how to do tables, fonts, etc - all the markdown codes you need to format your posts in a professional way. No one wants to read poor formatting blogs. This tutorial has been a great help for all Steemit and Busy bloggers.
Get busy to do fantastic blogging,
Rosa
