My first few weeks here has been full of surprises. I had a great time so far. It’s a merger of two awesome things: doing what you really love and absorbing all the acceptance and inclusiveness that ripples throughout the community. To be honest, it has been an overwhelming experience for me coming from the fact that I am socially-awkward. Socially-awkward in a sense that I am not into interactions and social engagements. Engaging in conversions and keeping them alive is not my cup of tea. But lately, I sensed a shift in my perception towards social interactions. I started to engage with the people I haven’t met yet. I became excited with the idea of meet-ups and group gatherings. I look forward to make new friends and expand my circles. I hope that this will continue.
I have been warned that starting a blog would always be a struggle. First, a struggle of getting the right audience. This is crucial because your audience will be the gauge that will dictate your next post. I would like to point out that a blog without an audience is not a blog; it’s a dairy. A blog is just in a diary style but with a specific audience in mind. Now, in this platform, I believe that I don’t have to struggle for the right audience. Everyone has been an amazing audience while being an amazing content creator!
Second, a struggle of conveying the right message across to your audience. Gaining followers is one thing, and maintaining them is another. Maintaining your followers means that you should convey to them the right message. You should strive to maintain the quality of your content and not get lost in the noise of the background. You should find the area that you are good at and grow there. In this platform, I think that you can grow anywhere because there will always be a community that is willing to nurture and support you. One community supports artists, while other communities support comedians, fictions writers, and travel bloggers among many others. The point is, there will always be a supportive community for you.
Third and last, a struggle keep with a routine upload of new contents. In order not to bore your audience, you should always post new contents in a daily or weekly basis. You should always update and always be updated. This is problematic for me because I have a main job. Unless I will go full time and focus on writing, I will not be able to post in a regular manner. In this platform, you are your own boss. The time is all yours. No one will be pressuring you to post because the community is already there and will always be there.
Keep on steeming!
