When my children were young, they learnt about different Christian values through watching Veggie Tales animations.
Veggie Tales animations have infused great humour in all the animations that my children can laugh and enjoy the different stories while learning about good Christian Values.
Below are some of the videos that I selected to give you some ideas about the animations from Veggie Tales.
The penniless Princess: God’s Little Girl
In this story, Sara learns about her own true value through the eyes of God and it is not about how much she has in life.
Very often, our children may compare themselves with their classmates and friends. By knowing who we are in the eyes of God, our children can understand their true value as a child of God.
God made you special
Parents can see that our children may want to follow the popular kids in school. They want to imitate them but God made us special in our own ways.
Through this animation, our children can learn that they are already special just by being themselves and they do not need to become someone else.
God wants me to forgive them
Our children in school may have friends who have mistreated or done something bad to them in certain ways.
They may develop bitterness and they may even want to seek for revenge.
As parents, we know it is hard to forgive someone who have mistreated us in some ways but knowing the biblical truth, we need to learn to forgive others and release ourselves from the bitterness that may do us more harm than good.
Through this video, children learn about the need to forgive others.
Where’s God When I’m Scared
Our children may have many fears as they grow older especially after watching a scary movie.
They can face different fears in school as well as things they need to accomplished.
By knowing God is with them, they need to learn to trust God even when they are afraid.
We may not be able to stop the feeling of fear but we can trust God who is forever faithful to us.
In conclusion
As Christian parents, we must find ways to engage our children in Christian truth in the way they enjoy. It is not just about getting them to memorise bible verses.
Getting our children to enjoy learning about God and how to take small steps nearer to God are considerations that we should have.
Forcing our children can only have them disliked the things we introduced.
Learning should always be fun and enjoyable for our children even for our Christian faith.
