There is a relatively new front-end on the Steem blockchain called SteemPeak. Their introductory post was made two months ago, but I only discovered the site within the past week.
Check out some of the wonderful things about SteemPeak:
- The despised "Trending" page is [essentially] gone, and a skeleton of it remains mostly as a way to access "Topics"/tags.
- Topics/tags can be "saved" and you can quickly access any topic/tag that you have so saved. Individual users can also be "saved" to a special list for quick-access to their profile pages (working independently of the "following" page). These saved lists of topics and users show on your Feed as well as the Topics page.
- A static menu-bar at the top of the screen allows fast, one-click access to your Feed, Profile, Replies, Create-a-post, Notifications. etc.
- Resteems can be filtered from your Feed or on anyone's blog page.
- The "notifications" feature really works!
- Your "profile" page shows your voting power, vote value, and time-to-recharge, without having to go to SteemWorld or Steemd to see it.
- NightMode is available, thankfully, as well as the regular black-text-on-white-background mode.
- Your "feed" and "profile"/blog pages can be displayed in "List View" or "Grid View" at your discretion.
- The "reply box" beneath all posts, as well as the editing-box for new posts, contains a Markdown toolbar, for one-click access to boldface, italics, etc.
- Any post can be bookmarked within the site.
- When creating a new post, the "preview" can be seen side-by-side in relation to the editing window.
- Drafts of posts can be saved, and multiple drafts are possible. Drafts are also automatically saved, periodically, as you work on a post!
- Posts can be scheduled, or published immediately.
- Templates of posts can be saved, and multiple templates are possible, so any footers/banners that you normally include in a post can be preserved.
- Wallet transactions can be filtered between "incoming" or "outgoing."
- Small transactions (e.g.: 0001 Steem can be filtered-out).
- Transactions in the wallet are searchable.
- The site has many "hover-friendly" zones so that merely hovering-over your icon in the upper-right displays a menu without having to click on the icon, hovering-over the number of upvotes displays a list of upvoters without having to click, etc.
There are very few downsides that I have discovered thus far, but they include:Profile pages do not include location of the user, if supplied.
Profile pages do not include date of joining the Steem blockchain.
No way to vote for witnesses, at least that I can find.
😊

But, perhaps those things will be added at a later date! Still, the pros outweigh the cons, no doubt!
