Hello everyone, I am Prch and from Hong Kong. A super big shoutout to @kpine for organising this content. Load up on guns, bring your stemmit friends. It's fun to help and lets be friends. Haha. Sorry about changing some of the smells like teen spirit lyrics.
Let's get down to business. My steemit journey started in december last year and so far I’ve been doing quite ok mixing and mingling with friends around the world on this platform. In real life, I'm a small business owner and fully aware of why businesses in a financial sense need socalisation and connections as an alliance. Business allies, with their diverse skill sets and expertise and in different sectors, may do something stronger together as project teams to achieve bigger and farther.
Steemit is a miniature of the real world; genuine connections among humans matter most. Blogging alone on Steemit does not seem to be a way out. We need a sense of belonging and existence to keep us going. It's so frustrating that a blogger receive no meaningful comments, who cannot interact with other bloggers but just keeps talking to the invisible air. We need financial support too on Steemit. To be honest, I do think many of us were motivated by the idea of getting paid for content contribution when we were signing up for our accounts. It's so frustrating that if a blogger constantly has low rewards.
Understanding that socalisation and connections on steemit as essential as they are in real life and inspired by some Steemit users @aaronli, @htliao, @honoru, @elizacheng, @thesteemengine, @apanamamama, @travelgirl, @anomadsoul, @sjennon, @sndbox, @ocd, @crosheille, @i-gordan, and @redwellies (sorry for the namedropping here but you guys are so inspiring and helpful. Your help means so much to me), I started to ‘meddle’ in somebody’s else business in January by leaving comments to fellow steemians on how to get better visibility, to get connected with similar minds, and to get more financial support.

I’m conscious about unique or better positioning on Steemit as in doing real-life businesses. With this in mind, I have positioned myself as a connecting point bridging the gap between the whole world and my community. I have been writing on my local culture, and have participated in some large competitions sharing my local culture with the rest of the world. Mixing and mingling with people all along have been giving me a plenty of opportunities meeting new people and making friends.
I discussed some possible reasons why Steemit penetration may have been low in Hong Kong and made it known to the world
I did this post to share one important religious culture in Hong Kong with all the rituals and philosophies behind. I wanted to tell everyone that travelling to Hong Kong is not just about shopping, the place has something more to offer. I won in this contest
Hopefully I can carry on what I’ve been doing with the collaboration hub in the near future, which is a collective powerhouse. It is driven by people with a strong sense of altruism, a vast of real-life business and social media experience and a positive mindset of long-term sustainability of Steemit. The powerhouse can help grow the platform hand-in-hand and make it a flourishing destination as a leading blockchain-powered social media service provider. I hope you enjoyed this post.
I shared some Chinese Fung Shui culture with a stemmit friend to help spread the culture,/sup>
I shared tips on Hong Kong travel whilst sharing the culture with fellow steemians
This post was to let the world know about how bamboo is used for construction scaffolding in Hong Kong
I wanted to bring it to light on Steemit and shared with steemians that Hong Kong has some cultural heritage and we can do more to preserve the culture
Hong Kong breaks for Chinese New Year and I shed light on the festival from a new perspective, so communities across Steemit may have gotten a new taste of Chinese New Year in Hong Kong
I must admit that I always ‘meddle’ in someone’s else business hoping that we all can grow and achieve something together. This perhaps is one of the personalities inhabiting in my blood. Some have appreciated what I’ve done but some haven’t just loathe it.
My son and I did something on Steemit to give emotional support a Malaysian lady fighting stage-3 cancer.
I spread the news about the lady in the Hong Kong community and hoped my community would help the lady too
I tried to connect other communities with my own sharing their posts and news
Recently I’ve seen a neighbouring community that might need some boost to their community-wide participation rate. An experimental cross-community cultural challenge came to my mind immediately for that purpose and I said to myself my idea might help them and also help us as well; the Hong Kong community seems to be having a low community-wide participation rate. I have proposed my idea to some of the Hong Kong community leaders and they like my idea much. A result is that we are about to start a Hong-Kong based Steemit-driven collaboration hub (with a new Steemit account) hoping to do lots of online and offline events to bring out cross-community synergy and link communities together. So far, things about the new collaboration hub initiative are on the right track, once we get hold of a new steemit account, we'll roll out events one after one and most likely my experimental cross-community cultural challenge be the first.
This discussion with neighbouring communities propelled me to propose my collaboration idea and we;ve working out a possible path now
