This post was inspired by what happened to me on Friday, 16th of February 2018 STOLEN
It was just your normal Friday morning, as usual it was time for school and another weekend.
He picked up his system, went online hoping to compose a post but for some reason it all felt blank, although he knew he had to post a topic, be it anything but something that would Improve or add meaning to the society but still yet, nothing came up.
The world around him felt drab it was as if his brain was pulled out from his body and he just couldn’t think of anything.
Moving on, he decided to play some games, to pass the time, alongside recording to game-play thinking for some reason he would upload it via @dtube if it was somewhat interesting.
Two hours past, he finally completed the game, it was almost time to move out, looking at the game-play size, reading 4gigbayte, quite large I must say.
He turned on his movie maker app, decided to cut, add and change the quality. With the hope of reducing the file size, yet the size was just too large, as it was 1.5gigabyte now.
Calculating the time it would take to upload, and if the data available was enough, he came out with a negative answer, no time and the data won’t be enough.
He shut down his laptop and moved out, heading to school but for some reason, his body was quite alerted if only he knew what would happen next.
Entering the closest bike available and on his way to the park, hoping to get a vehicle moving directly to his destination rather than waiting for some minutes probably hours in a park. Finally found a vehicle and the journey began to the next city with barely few hours for the first lecture of the day to commerce.
It was already 4:00pm when he arrived and the weather not so good, it was about to rain and his bags and gadgets would probably get wet.
Looked for a vehicle moving to his direction and willing to pay any amount be it fair or not, he was left unguarded and what happened next was quiet and still unbelievable to him even after 3days.
Along the way to his destination, the passenger just after him decided to stop/drop down as it was already her destination, the road moving right was supposed to be his destination road but for some reason, the passenger at the left reminded the driver, that he was supposed to go straight ahead.
The driver replied to him, that he had to drop down and he was sorry, saying the passenger at his left stopped him first and courtesy says, first come first serve. saying this, he was unaware of what had transpired.
He dropped down and paid the driver for his fare so far, taking two steps away from the vehicle, he observed that his pocket was a little bit light.
HIS PHONE WAS NO LONGER WITH HIM.
Upon looking back, the driver and the passenger was no more and he realized his phone was just stolen.
He recalled of a similar even that happened some while back to his friend and the scene was exactly the same, same situation and same date.
Coincidence or what?
Decided to call his closet friends and family about the event that just unfolded in his eyes and he was still yet to believe it.
He have heard similar situation about how others good was stolen and he always thought, it was because of their carelessness but upon happening to him, he thought probably not or it was also because of his carelessness.
Thinking if only he had?
Waited some minutes before moving out.
Waited in the park for a vehicle
Was not in a hurry to pay any amount
If only he had.....
His only regret was not locking his phone and all he hopes for, is for the new user to wipe all his data before using the phone, as it is now clear that he will never again see the phone, he just have to move on and try to recover all that was lost some way or the other.
Never again will such thing happen to him, so he said and now he is more enlightened about how the world works.
Even though he is not ready to do any harm to his fellow human/brother, you never can tell what they hope to do to you if opportunity presents itself.
Be vigilant, stay safe and always be conscious of every situation you find yourself.
