Today I would like to introduce a Chinese restaurant that selling authentic Teochew-style food in Johor Bahru or better known as JB among Malaysian and Singaporean community.
JB is the second largest city in Malaysia and it's just opposite Singapore . Little known by many, the JB Chinese community is consist of large population of Teochew dialect group . Thus it was titled Little Teochew back then.
So happened we came to JB city center for appointment, I decided to find a restaurant that focus on authentic Teochew food as we came along with parents.
This restaurant named after Swee Ang came to my attention last time when I watched the famous food show by host Ah Xian.
Before I went to this restaurant, already listed few food that we should try out during the first visit.
Firstly , is this Teochew-style soup with meat ball which is made of fish and pork and a layer of crab meat as the skin. According to TV show, this meat ball was only served in special event eg wedding dinner last time in Teochew area, and nowaday due to the tedious preparation works, not many restaurants serving this meal anymore.
The other authentic Teochew soup is this salted veg & duck soup.
We saw many other patrons ordered each self with a bowl of soup, so we reckon soup should be the main attraction here. And we order one more ginseng chicken soup:

Fried meehun is famous food in JB, so as this shop. They did it very nice !
We ordered a plate of chinese lettuce as well. Initially was intended for balance diet ,but surprisingly it's nice and tasty !

新加坡对岸的新山市，一直以来都有小汕头的称号，就是说这里是潮州籍贯的华人居住地。
不久前，看了本地著名美食主持阿贤介绍的新山古早味潮州美食，就记下有机会到新山市中心就一定要尝一尝。而这机会就在上星期就实现了。
许多部落客都介绍这道蟹肉碗，所以一早就把它列入必吃名单。而这里也主打不少潮州式炖汤，平时似乎比较少接触到，所以我们也学习餐馆内其他食客一样，点了许多炖汤，要一一尝试，点了咸菜鸭汤与参鸡汤。
阿叁鱼是招牌菜，也点了新山这里许多餐馆必有得一道菜-干炒米粉，这仿佛象征餐馆在新山美食的地位有多高那样。
