#beautifulsunday Brunch at Ayatori Japanese Cuisine

Ayatori Japanese Cuisine is located at the heart of La Trinidad Valley. In the middle of the strawberry fields cuts through a road and here lies Ayatori.

I didn't know that there were Japanese restaurants here in my town. I know a cafe owned by a Japanese but not a restaurant.

This was mentioned to us by a friend of a friend. We went there one time only to find it close. If I am not mistaken it was national holiday then. Bad luck.

Ayatori in English is translated as cat's cradle. This is also the name of the string game where you tie a single string in a circle and make shapes out of it passing it from one player to another.

The restaurant only occupies the ground floor of this building.

When we entered the place, it was a small restaurant with no less than 10 tables close together with enough leg room.

The place was well lit and had a cozy ambience. You can see a view of some of the mountains that surround the valley. The place is neat and clean.

Aside from the name, there were only a few accessories Japanese related. The tables and chairs were wood and comfortable.

I also like the lighting that they have here. The cove lighting and warm lights added coziness.

Their menu consisted of appetizers, salads, sushi, maki, donburi, tempura, bento box, soup, noodles, ramen, meat (pork, beef, chicken) and vegetables. They have a wide range of food to choose from.

The prices are a bit expensive. We decided with my partner to stay as much as possible within PHP500.00 so it was tough to choose. We also had a hard time deciding what to eat lol!

We settled for Yasai Itame, Rock n' Roll Maki and Kisu Tempura. While waiting for our orders, we were served hot green tea.

The tea was not so hot almost warm and it mildly tastes like matcha.

Yasai Itame consists of stir fried vegetables (carrots, cabbage, onions) in butter with squid and pork topped with chinese chives.

I like what they did with this because the squid did not taste as fishy. The vegetables were cooked well and they are fresh. It also tastes good with soy sauce.

Kisu Tempura is a deep fried Japanese whiting. This is my first time to taste Kisu and I like it. There were five pieces of these with two slices of sweet potato and okra tempura as well. It is served in a woven plate which I find cute. It comes with a soy sauce dip with Chinese chives.

Rock n' Roll Maki consists of tuna and salmon, spring onion and sesame seeds. This has the same taste with the other Japanese restaurant I have been to so it tastes familiar. I like how the wasabi adds spiciness with every bite.

Overall, it was something different in terms of taste. There were not much taste of salt or msg or other spices. The soy sauce is the only thing that gives you the saltiness you need but even that is mildly so. It was a good experience so far.
