Well some silly goose (yes, you @enginewitty) seems to think there aren’t quite enough posts about me on the blockchain or something ... I disagree a bit 😜 and I’m sure others would as well hah. BUT he nominated me for the #TenRandomThings Challenge started by @ twodorks and @ anutu;
This challenge doesn't have to do anything with Steemit. Each person who decides to do the challenge will have to say at least 10 facts about yourself! Pretty easy right?! After that you need to ask one question and you have to tag that person to play along! Don't forget to use the hashtag #tenrandomthings so we can find your post!
The challenge is another wonderful way to get to know the people behind the usernames and I’ve really been enjoying everyone’s posts.. random facts are fun 😄, so I couldn’t say no. Hey look I even included a dreaded selfie.. That should fulfill my apparent UBG requirements...
So, random things about me huh? Hmmmm I’m going to try to not think too hard about these while trying not to repeat ones I’ve already done.. so here goes nothing;
1.) I Graduated High School At The Age Of 16
No, I’m not a genius or anything... but I went to a small school and felt that I wasn’t being challenged at all. I never took a book home, never studied for a test and made straight A’s.. I felt that 2 more years of that would just be a waste of time. So, with the approval of my folks I tested out and went to University in Texas. Looking back it wasn’t the best decision. Being a 16yr old completely on my own, going to school full time and working full time to pay for school and living expenses was a bit much. It led to me being burnt out pretty quickly.. which led me to walk away from school for awhile. But, I recovered quickly and it was a good life experience.
2.) I Have A Weird Ability To Read People
I’ve had it for as long as I can remember, I normally can meet someone and get a pretty good feel for who they are right off the bat.. I’ve only been wrong a few times. I get feelings about people or situations.. which is why I trust my gut, it never lets me down. This is also why I use to be damn good at Texas Hold’em.. people have tells that they give away way too easily. I think it’s just the fact that I pay attention, notice the small things etc etc... it’s not a gift, even though it’s been deemed my Super Power... funny enough by the one person I can’t seem to read 🤔
3.) I Am Technologically Illiterate
Yeah it’s true, technology does not come easy to me.. I can barely work my phone.. even though I have some how accomplished posting and curating soley from my phone since joining Steemit, so I guess that’s something. I’m sure if I really took the time to learn, I could conquer this one and I’m sure I’ll get to it eventually.. but right now when someone starts talking tech to me it sounds like a foreign language. 🤷♀️
4.) I Don’t Like Clothes Shopping
😬 I feel like I might get my girl card taken away for this one, but I just don’t enjoy it at all. I have no idea what the newest fashions are and I don’t really have any interest in them.. I’m not what you would call a fashionable person lol. I like to be comfortable and normally means jeans, comfy sweaters/cardigans etc.. and the actual process of finding and buying those items is not something I look forward to. I can’t tell you the last time I wore a pair of heels, probably 10 years ago and it was for work. Sooo, the whole girls and shopping thing .. I fail miserably at.
5.) I Randomly Help People Get Things Off High Shelves At The Store
I’m relatively tall.. 5’9” (175cm) and therefore have been asked many times in my life to reach something for someone. So, it’s actually something I just actively do now. When I’m out at a grocery store I am just aware of those who are needing some assistance (remember that whole pay attention thing), and just step in without being asked. It’s a way for me to use my useless height for good 😂
Hmmmm 5 down... this is harder than I thought! think, think, think..
6.) I Actually Enjoy Airtravel
So, I hear many people talk about dreading this part of travel but I’ve always enjoyed it... and have no idea why. The whole process has always been enjoyable to me. I just need a window seat, my favorite tunes or a good book and I’m as happy as a little clam. I don’t even mind layovers...just grab a coffee and do some people watching, sounds like an ok time to me.
7.) I Am A Complete Mess
I saw this quote the other day on someone’s Instagram and I felt it sort of described me perfectly..
“It's all messy. The hair. The bed. The words. The heart . Life.” - William Leal.
Well, except I like to make my bed 😂.. But I’m an absolute disaster most days.. and in life in general. I embrace the mess though, the brokenness and the imperfections while trying to live each day to the fullest. I don’t have everything figured out, actually.. I have nothing figured out, but I’m working on accepting the beautiful disaster that I am and encouraging others to do the same. No one is perfect.. so let’s stop pretending we are.. let’s be real, because that is beautiful.
8.) I Want To Run Away To The Forest
And would be totally content living in a hobbit hole by a stream.. and I’m not even kidding.
9.) I Don’t Enjoy Being Scared
I don’t like horror movies, they just make me uncomfortable the whole time.. I’m not a fan of roller coasters or haunted houses for the same reason. In fact when I was a teenager I got kicked out of a haunted house because I punched one of the actors in the face... I didn’t mean to, I mean he just jumped out at me and it was a natural response lol. It was pretty funny after the fact and I felt horrible, luckily he was completely understanding and got a good laugh out of it too. Never been back to one since. I mean I enjoy a good thriller, one that makes you think.. but not just horror and scare.. I’m just boring like that apparently.
10.) I Want To Live Life To The Fullest
This one might be a cop out but I think it says a lot about who I am. I say what I mean, stand up for what I think is right and I don’t go back on my word. I don’t want to spend my life looking back on what if’s and I wish I would of’s... so I put myself out there, do things I normally wouldn’t and try to not let go of special connections and moments when I come across them. I want to do things and go places and quite frankly just enjoy this beautiful life I was given. I’m a silly mess and quite frankly entirely too much for some people, and I’m ok with that. But, you’ll always know how I feel about you, where I stand and who I am.. flaws and all. Life is too short to spend it trying to be someone else or worrying about putting yourself out there. I spent entirely too long doing just that, and I refuse to do it anymore... so, love me or hate me.. I am who I am.

What is the most embarrassing moment in your entire life?
Wow.. I mean, I’m sure I have not had my most embarrassing moment yet. Let’s be honest, I have plenty of embarrassment left to experience in my life 😜
Hmmm.. Well the first thing that comes to mind is a run in with security while traveling. When going through security at the airport something started buzzing in my carry on... very loudly.. The guard who was holding my bag (about to put it through the x Ray machine) looked at me with the craziest look I have ever seen. Of course in the moment I realized I forgot to remove the batteries from my electric toothbrush and was just annoyed at my mistake. But, his face did not change.. and with a quick look around.. everyone around me had that same lovely face. I then realized what they all were thinking.. I turned tens shades of red and started sweating 😂... Then quickly and loudly said Its my toothbrush! It’s just my toothbrush!! This then judgmental and dirty minded guard handed me my bag with a sort of prove it look on his face. I quickly removed my toothbrush from my bag and took out the batteries, handed the bag back and proceeded through the line with my head down. Lol.. honestly, they should have been more embarrassed than me.. but it was a funny experience. Ah, good times.
