2019年5月29日、犬島を訪れました。4年ぶり、2度目の来訪です。
On May 29, 2019, I visited Inujima,a small #island in the #SetoInlandSea. It is my second visit for the first time in 4 years.
20世紀はじめに建設されたものの、わずか10年で操業を終えた犬島製錬所。銅製錬所の遺構を保存・再生したのが犬島精錬所美術館です。
The Inujima smelter built at the beginning of the 20th century and finished operations in 10 years. Inujima Seirensho Art Museum saved and regenerated the remains.
アーティスト・柳幸典は、「日本の近代化」という文脈で、犬島製錬所に、三島由紀夫というモチーフを重ね、この美術館にアート作品を展開しています。
In the context of "modernization of Japan", the artist Yukinori Yanagi has developed an art work with the motif of #YukioMishima in this place.
高度な水質浄化システムをはじめ、施設は環境に配慮しています。個人的には、環境配慮の取り組みと、廃墟と化している敷地内の近代化産業遺産群、そのギャップに惹かれます。
Facilities are #environmentallyfriendly, including advanced water purification systems. Personally, I am attracted to the gap between environmental efforts and modernized industrial heritage sites on the ruined site.
ここが、ずっと再訪したかった、敷地内の発電所跡地です。
It is the site of the power plant on site that I really wanted to revisit all the time.
植物が生い茂る、敷地内の近代化産業遺産群。
Modern industrial heritage groups, where plants grow thick.
高松港から、フェリーと高速船を乗り継いで、片道約2時間ずつの旅。船の本数も限られていて、足を運ぶチャンスがなかなかない場所です。しかしそれだけに、近づくにつれて、違った世界に足を踏み入れていく感覚があります。
To Inujima, take a ferry and a high-speed boat from Takamatsu Port and travel about two hours each. The number of ships is small and I have no chance to go. But I feel like I'm stepping into a different world.
