Here is today's vlog! Since the last recording, Murder Dog and I finished up our experience at AnarCon 2018. We went for a group hike that night, and there may have been some party favors involved. ;) It was a great adventure, and much fun was had been all. The next day we finished up at the Cove, said goodbye to friends new and old, and set out in the direction of West Virginia. We spent that night in a State park along the way, and continued our journey in the morning.
On Monday, we made it close to our destination before (potential) disaster struck again. My phone, which had been hanging on by a thread, finally crapped out and left Murder Dog and I temporarily stranded just outside the city of Nitro. Luckily I was able to track down some WiFi so that I could get the laptop up and running so that I could get my new phone to work. Serves me right for putting that off for so long.
We finally made it our friend Jon's place that evening and got to spend some time with him before he had to turn in for the night. He was gracious enough to let us use a spare room and give us as spare key, so that we could come and go as necessary. Today I decided to take the Element in for some maintenance, since there was a Honda dealership somewhat close by. On the way back I spotted a rather large park that seemed like the perfect place to record a vlog, so I stopped for a bit to do that.
In some potentially bigger news, I may have found a way to get myself some mobile work. A friend floated the idea of me traveling down to her place to pet-sit for her dogs while her and her family are on vacation. Once that conversation got started, a number of other people reached out in one way or another to express their interest me providing such services for them as well. This is obviously still very much in the planning stages, but the vanarchist pet-sitter might be coming to a town near you soon!
