Restaurant “Kod Bivka”, Orešac, Serbia

[Текст на српском] Every nice day you have, you should spend outside in the pleasent company. Restaurant of a strange name — “Kod Bivka” — is placed a fishing rod afar from the river Danube. That's probably the reason you always can find delicious fresh fish here. Like this unfortunate Mr. Perch that you already have met here

The review of this restaurant starts before you enter — it is still under construction, and therefore a facade isn't especially attractive…

…but the food is. Some time ago, they have engaged a specialist from the “Hell Kitchen” to help them to improve service. And he has found a lot of omissions! (Video in Serbian language — sorry for the faulty audio)

In the meantime, some improvements in service were made, and the whole team is overhauled! So, if you like fish delicacies, this would be a good place at the outskirts of Smederevo city, at the old Belgrade Road. I would suggest that you start your meal with a fish broth.

You can choose almost any fresh water fish you like, but the most fresh are always the ones that actually live in the neighborhood, like perch, pike and catfish. Trout is my favourite tasty fish… alas, it is not a Danube native. Its quality depends on the provider from some nice mountain stream or trout farm, and freshness depends on the day you have ordered that dish. If you nail the right one, you will be rewarded like this:

The only trouble with almost all Serbian restaurants is — enormous amount of food! Beware of overeating. Of course, if you do not like fish, or having hard times with a tiny fish bones, you can choose a barbecue specialities, like this rolled kebabs with fried potato:

Free Internet Checkmark YES-mala.jpg

The restaurant (don't ask me what the name means) has a free Internet access, so you can enjoy and share impressions with your Steemit friends immediately.

Smoking-free zone Checkmark NO-mala.jpg

Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a smoking-free zone. That means I can't visit it when the weather is too cold for the table at the terrace.

Final classification — 3 out of 5:
