Hello my Steemit friends,
Last night we stayed at a business hotel, Sunroute Nagano, in front of Nagano station. We also rented an economy car for 12 hours to exploring Nagano City. We started around 9 a.m. The first place we headed to was an apple farm far about 30 to 40 minutes away. I picked one farm from the leaflet which I got the day before at Tourist Information Center. It was our first apple picking experience.
We were lucky to see a rainbow on the way to the apple farm. The farm is called Nature Farm Tomioka. The shop sells many kinds of apples. An old couple takes care of this farm. At first the old woman felt she didn't want to welcome us because we are foreigners but when we communicated with her in Japanese she changed her attitude and was friendly.
The apple picking farm is about a 5 minute drive from the shop. They have various kinds of apples such as Fuji, Shinano Sweet, and Shinano Gold. They have more than 100 trees.
Our course was 800 yen to pick 3 apples. We were lucky the owner picked 2 types of apples to try. We really had fun taking photos there.
Unfortunately, a branch of one of the apple trees broke, so the owner said he had to pick it for sale today. I had the opportunity to help him and had more fun getting more picking experience. How much fun? Look at my photo.
Those apples were sold cheap. 1 box was 1,000 yen (all have bruises), or 1 bag for 500 yen.
We bought some apples and talked with the owners for a while and then set out to our next destination.
See you in the next post. Hope you like it.
