A Impressive Pagoda in Ruined Temple Place of Goryeo Dynasty

There was one common thing among those pagodas displayed in this open park. All of those pandas were brought here from their ruined place. Shortly speaking, All those pagodas lost their temple. It reminded me people who lost their country. All of those relics looked like the wandering people.

As acknowledging this common background, the first pagoda was the work made in early Goryeo dynasty. Actually, this pagoda was brought from Seoul Metropolitan. As the city expanding, the ruined temple place was destined to be changed into the resident village. Local government decided to build the apartment in ruined temple place. So pagoda was brought to this park.

In my guess, the style of this pagoda was very special, unlike other pagodas built in this period, the pagoda seemed to be strongly influenced by Baek Jae dynasty.

The end line of each roof of this 5 story pagoda was lifted as same as Wooden pagoda style. Soft and elegant touching was the characteristics of Baek Jae dynasty mason’s skill.

So it was so amazing for me to find out there continued Back Jae style masonry tradition up until that period.
