The most prominent difference of Seon Am Sa from other temples was the gate.
Unlike other temples, the one pillar gate was the entrance gate constructed on the line of the walls.
This style was as same as Wha Eom Sa temple in Jiri-san mountain.
But the one pillar gate in Seon Am Sa looked more formal to that of Wha Eom Sa temple.
It had the steps and the guarding stone things which reminded me of the cloud of the Buddhist paradise.
The head of the guarding stone looked like the imaginary animals of Hae Tae or the Dragon protecting the temple against the evil spirit. But the body seemed the cloud like that of other temples.
What made me impressive was there were no gates for 4 Heaven Kings and Warrior Geum Gang which were made for protecting the Buddhist paradise.
In this manner the deployment of the buildings and the gates was quite different from other temples.
In my view this deviation from ordinary style seemed to have connection with the faction of this temple in Buddhist faith.
There exist several Buddhist factions in Korean Buddhism. The Buddhist faction of Seon Am Sa temple was similar to the Anglican Church. Monks in Seon Am Sa can merry unlike the traditional orthodox Buddhist faction.
Instead of the gates protecting the temple, there were other entrance gates simply indicating the name and the meaning of the temple.
Until now, I did not heard this kinds of characteristics of Seon Am Sa from other specialists.
So my interpretation needs to be confirmed in many perspectives.
