As 1 of the 5 legendary Inari Shrines in Japan, The Taikodani Inari Shrine (太皷谷稲荷神社, Taikodani Inari Jinja) in Tsuwano, Japan was originally built to protect Tsuwano Castle from evil spirits. Those who are able, climb up the mountain entrance through a number of vermillion torii gates, in order to ask to be empowered with good fortune, for great harvests & prosperity.
The shrine itself has consecrated amulets and empowering charms available as souvenirs.
When we arrived at the mountainside by car, we started our visit by washing our hands and lips with the shrine's holy fountain.
I was impressed with the temple's main exterior and design.
I did a good deed by donating in exchange for putting a name on a wooden charm, for an empowerment. It was a natural enjoyment overlooking the beautiful small town from the shrine's cliff side patio.
I managed to find a great amulet which I felt wanted to come home with me. Out of all the empowerment, I chose the power of the emperor and was able to take a picture of all the empowerments they had.
I really enjoyed this lovely shrine and how clean the mountain air is at the Taikodani Inari Shrine (太皷谷稲荷神社, Taikodani Inari Jinja). Thanks for joining us on So Travel Today 11: & be sure to book your next trip at www.sotravel.today.
