So we were on a trip to the biggest waterfall In Sri Lanka, when we realized the hike takes up to 2 hours through the forest! Well, we had to squeeze in so many different places in one day that we didn’t have the time to hike all that way up, even though everyone said it’s a gorgeous hike! Well then, of course, we decided to take the “shortcut”! Mhmmm...
All the way up with a motorbike to the top of the waterfall village and then through the forest with the same old bikes! The guys at the parking warned us that the elephants might wander around so we should keep our motorbikes away from the cliffs! “Yea, right..” we thought!🙈
We left our motorbikes next to the locked entrance gate, climbed over and went on to one of the most beautiful hikes we have ever done! 20 minutes long! Short and sweet hahaha!
Felt like we will roll over the edge and that suddenly an elephant herd will appear and cross our way! I was on a lookout for the tallest tree to climb!🙈
We reached the waterfall from a completely different side somewhere through the forest and the gorgeous top of the waterfall appeared! We felt like we have discovered the waterfall and that it’s only to ourselves!😇
You know the saying about the paths less traveled leading to the most beautiful destinations!💙
And the motorbikes did not get destroyed by wild elephants so we call it a win-win, haha!👌🏻
Love you all!
