Yesterday in one post I was mentioning that today is coming even stronger storm. That was already quite long time ago when I was getting out to shoot some waves. So today supposed to be the right chance to see it again, only the trick was to catch the period of time with less or almost no raining.
So, was quite lucky to get such a period and my camera even stayed almost dry, counting I took a plastic bag with me just hold it there when short raining periods.
Today wind was up to 30m/s in gusts, which is pretty a lot of even for Klaipeda stormy autumn. And direction of waves was just perfect since they were hitting the stones and covering the lighthouse just in most perfect way
By car it is very easy and quite convenient to get to the northern part of port gates. The parking place is only about 50 mtrs from the beach and you have to walk some other 100 mtrs to the concrete wave breakers with a walking promenade there. Today I wasn't in the mood to get completely wet from the falling waves (which already happened before :) ), so wasn't really too much close to the waves, since took very long telephoto lens compressing the perspective and giving quite unique point of view as well.
Have made shot from 4 different positions to get shots of the waves hitting the lighthouse, the stormy sea itself and few frames of the port with very well moored vessels there. All the vessels which remained outterroads got Harbor Master order to rise anchors and proceed for drifting to outer sea. That is to avoid any danger of the anchor chain to be broken (this happens quite often in fact during heavy storms) and vessels to be grounded ashore to the beach.
The Poseidon is really angry today, enjoy the scenery :)
