📷TreeTuesday- Botanical Garden Tbilisi

Have a nice day, everyone!

This is my contribution for TreeTuesday, initiated by @old-guy-photos

Now the end of November. You have had any snow? I have no snow. But I suggest you go back to summer. My story about visiting the Botanical Garden. I was there in August. That's where a lot of different species of trees! From the height cypresses are clearly visible. We will go down.

We go along the paved paths of the oldest Botanical Garden of Georgia.
This territory has existed for almost 4 centuries. There has never been economic activity. The slopes of the Sololaki mountain range and the valley of the Tsavkisistskali river were protected. Once Narikala fortress was built here. Near the fortress were royal gardens. Yes, it is in a deep gorge, next to the river!
The exact date of creation of the garden is unknown. However, there are references in some written sources:

The traveler from France, Jean Chardin, mentioned the royal gardens in Tbilisi in his travel notes (1671.)
The botanist Joseph de Tournefort spoke about the gardens at the Narikala fortress (1701).
The historian, geographer Vakhushti Bagrationi marked the gardens on his 1735 map.

Here grow plants typical of Georgia. Also several specimens of exotic species were brought.

Ordinary wild vegetation is also interesting.

On 70 hectares of the garden grow rare and unusual plant species
Ah, cacti, it's certainly not a tree. But sometimes they are very much like trees.

We liked the longest arched bridge. From here there is a beautiful view of the 42-meter waterfall.
