ULOG 030 - Gently back to work

Today is my first day back to work after the series of World Cup night shifts, other colleagues are taking their turn watching the final matches. I'm back to my normal working hours and like every Monday, I'm working from home.

ULOG 030 - Gently back to work

I spent the morning working from home, I still haven't managed to get back to a normal sleeping pattern yet and still a little bit lagged. My line manager chatted with me and suggested I should try to get some Melatonin to help reset the body clock. So I went to the chemist and bought a box but unfortunately, I only discovered later on that it was a homeopathic version that does not actually contain any Melatonin and that real Melatonin is only available with a prescription in Australia... $25 a little box, what a rip-off! I will take it back to the chemist later this week.

At lunchtime, we decided to go to The Entrance to enjoy the sunny day. Sunlight will also help me feel less sleepy during the day and keep me awake until the evening. So there is my afternoon office:

My wife prepared us some nice chicken burgers that she cooked on the electric barbecue that is available at the picnic area. We enjoyed the lunch and had some homemade Kombucha to go along with the burger.

It felt really good, I went back to work on the laptop and closed a couple of tickets. There was one little bug that is a little bit tricky to fix, so that will have to wait until tomorrow when I will discuss with the team on possible solutions and what they would like to be implemented.

The sunlight did help a lot. At around 2 pm, two colleagues who were on a break joined me and started fishing. I joined them later on and caught a Blackfish that I kept for dinner.

We left a little bit after 5 pm, people were still fishing, enjoying the last light.

Tomorrow, I'll resume my long commute on the train to the office.
