ULOG 042 - Winter Break 2018 Day 1

ULOG 042 - Winter Break Day 1

We left home yesterday evening and headed to KFC for a quick dinner before driving our way down to our friend's place in western Sydney. We arrived at about 10 pm and went directly to bed to wake up at 4.45am and leave at 5.30am.

After about an hour of driving, it was time for breakfast. There are four cars so we called each other and decided to stop at a McDonald's. A funny thing happen, I had my mate use the Find My Friends app to find the whereabouts of my wife who is sitting with his wife in their car. We forgot that the map in the Find My Friends app was not rotated like the GPS and thought they were in front of us when they said they were already at Maccas. So we kept driving for 10 - 15 minutes and realised we were going even farther away! They were actually behind us not in front. lol. So we stopped at another McDonald's and waited for the rest of the group to join us.

I took the opportunity to take the photo above. Note: the morning effect had been added in post-processing in the SnapSeed app.

After two more hours of driving, we got to Cooma and stopped in a park for a picnic.

After lunch, we headed to Jindabyne to rent some ski gears for the kids and also some snow chains for my car that is not a 4WD. Another 30 minutes of driving and we got to the destination at the rented house. Too bad, as we arrived, it rained cats and dogs. We are now worrying that if the rain does not turn to snow as expected then it will be a disaster.

We spent a while unpacking the cars in the rain and then headed to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

At least the place is beautiful and the rooms are very nice.

Now it's time for dinner. Our plan to go visit the village this evening will have to be cancelled due to the rain. Lets hope it will be cold enough tonight for some snow to fall for us.
