It took more than an entire day before I could use my account again after SteemIt's Hard Fork. Meanwhile, I've learned some interesting lessons...

Lights out
It were two weird days, yesterday and today, I guess the same goes for everyone on SteemIt who is not an orca or a whale.
Yesterday, I had just finished a post in the afternoon - I guess it was around 3 or 4 o'clock here - but I was unable to publish it.
Apparently, the hard fork had taken place, and on Discord they advised me to do nothing for the next two hours or so.
Two hours, I guessed that wouldn't be problem: it gave me some time to clean up the huge mess in one of the rooms downstairs.
Temperatures are only a couple degree away from frost at night, and it is time to take my tropical perennials inside. But before I can do that, I really have to tidy up the room they will be residing in this winter.

What A Mess
I honestly didn't know where to begin. The room, that had served to grow my seedlings in, was now like a storage place for all my gardening stuff.
I decided to start making some space near the window, so that the plants would at least get a lot of sunshine, even though they would be living inside the house for the next couple of months.
It took about an hour before my back started acting up, and I had to give up.

No SteemIt

I had hoped that everything would be fine again when I arrived back upstairs, but it was very clear that I still couldn't use my account. I noticed, though, that other people, did have access - I saw their messages in my feed.
For the first time in weeks, I went to bed early.
More than an entire day later, that terrible message is still staring at me from my screen.
And it doesn't look like that's going to change anytime soon...
I tried to keep busy on Whaleshares and Weku, you know, but they bored me pretty fast.
So I saw this as a chance to maybe clean up and rearrange my hosting accounts. I hadn't been inside most Cpanels since I quit marketing, which is about 3 years ago.
Instead, I got sidetracked... I was seduced into purchasing an affiliate website plugin - I guess old habits never die :0)

The Truth
I never thought it was actually true, but after these two days, I can only admit to myself that I'm addicted...addicted to SteemIt.
And I assume I'm not the only one. Maybe we could start a self-help group and organize meetings for when SteemIt is down again :0)
