Since arriving in Benalmadena in June, I have been taking walks along the beach once, sometimes twice a week. The walks were always interesting. There are so many things to see, so many activities going on on the beach front. Never a dull moment.
In June, the beach was still relatively quiet. It was still quite chilly then. In July, the weather was warmer. It was also the beginning of the European Summer/School holidays, and the beach began to see more tourist arrivals. August will be another peak period for them. In September, the tourist arrivals will start to taper off.
These were the scenes on my walk last Sunday. The place was certainly at its peak of the tourist season. For those who have been following my blog on Benalmadena, you will also notice from the photos that the beach is more crowded now.
The eateries are doing brisk business. There are queues for tables at several restaurants.
And the hawkers. There were more of them hawking their wares too - usually, imitation copies of handbags, shoes, tee-shirts and toys.
The waters are still choppy. The waves are too strong for swimming.
This is a reconstruction of an old castle that had fallen to ruins from medieval time.
