Utopian Visibility Whitelist

Introduction

My name is Ebixy Ebi Laffin and I have a page on Facebook where I promote open source applications. ownCloud is a free and open source file hosting service that is available on multiple operating systems; Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. It can be installed on both a public and private server.

Campaign Strategy

Choice of target audience
My audience were two African countries; Kenya and Ghana. There are two African countries that are having an ICT revolution in the last couple of years. Exposing them to ownCloud might help them adopt the technology.

Post Appearance, Ad message and Call To Action

The application has received a lot of applaud because its features can rival market standards like Dropbox and Google drive. I have not used the application, but reviews by users point to a positive direction.

There have active social media pages on Facebook and Twitter. The Twitter handle having almost 15K followers.

The ad message gave a brief description of what the application is all about with a link to the official website of the application. There was a call to action button of send message.

Graphics

The image used is an official image from the ownCloud website. The image gave the best description of a cloud service company. There was no need to create a personal graphic.

Interaction

There was no interaction on the post; no like, no comment, no shares and also no one messaged me to inquire more about the product.

Goal / Conversions

The ad reached 10,958 but the purpose of the ad was not accomplished. Since my target is an emerging market, I wanted to have interactions with potential users; their views and concerns on the application. No messaging conversation was started.
