Linked Task Request

[STEEM BOUNTY] EFTG – Talented Graphic Designers needed to create logo and visual identity for portal running on private STEEM Blockchain by @utopian.tasks for EFTG Project.

Details

Aim of the EFTG Pilot Project consists in developing a blockchain platform infrastructure technically enabling citizens and investors by giving them increased accessibility to public regulated information provided by the participating Officially Appointed Mechanisms (OAM). The EFTG Pilot Project also aims to provide search capability among real Member States' data, such as those from the Annual Financial Reports (AFR) in order to help contribute to further integrated capital markets.

Task owner was looking for branding and UI design for European Financial Transparency Gateway (EFTG) EC Initiative, which is a new initiative of the European Union Commission.

UI Design - My goal was to make a professional looking, but still simple and usable UI design. A poorly designed user interface has a really bad side effect on productivity, so i've tried to use straightforward and scalable for all desktop screen resolutions. I choose some colors which are easy for the eye and fonts which are easy to read even on small resolutions. Tried to push the usability to the maximum.

Logo design - I chose Lato font as main font for the logo. I tried to keep the simplicity of the UI and branding design and to adopt this principles on logo design too. The simple shape above the "EFTG" creates a dynamic, movement feeling while it keeps the readability of the brand name.

Branding guideline - The Task owner suggested to use business blue color as the main one, so i used blue, white and some grey as highlight and accent colors. Montserrat is a great font - I've chose this one as the font of UI design - with great variety of font weights. Used only medium and normal font weights to keep the UI simple and to prevent unnecessary http requests (using way too many fonts usually slow down websites, my goal was to prevent this).

Benefits / Improvements

I've tried to use tree simple principles while i created the UI, Logo and branding design: Simpicity, Usability, Flexibility. I think this are the main characters of a strong brand and usable interface too. So i've tried to apply this everywhere over the designs. I think this helped me a lot to make the designs consistent and unified.
