Contribution Specifications

  • Translation Overview

A quarter of this contribution was still part of the folder Assert, in order to finish its translation. The part that was kept untranslated were code lines that are meant to stay the same, and a couple of strings that will be added in my next contribution.

The new folder in which I started translating is Child Process. Within this folder there were many interesting words that I had no knowledge about, therefore I searched for further information in order to understand them and translate them correctly. Examples of those are:

Shell: In computing, it refers to an "user interface for access to an operating system's services." (Wikipedia, 2018). It is named a shell because it is the outermost layer around the operating system kernel.

Unix: "a family of multitasking, multiuser computer operating systems that derive from the original AT&T Unix" (Wikipedia, 2018).

API: In computer programming, it's the acronym for application programming interface, and it refers to a "set of subroutine definitions, communication protocols, and tools for building software" (Wikipedia, 2018).
