In a previous witness update I was mentioning about a spamming account @ammard and how it got affected by the introduction of the Resource Credits of HF20. That account was showing up in my Sumo Logic dashboard with about 150 times a day with an insufficient RC error but look at how that number dropped (screenshot above) it went all the way down to only 4 in the last 3 days! A little look at it's profile on steemd.com shows that its activity is super reduced so that confirms that the bot is not even attempting to post as often as before. Can we consider this as a success for HF20? Is it the first? Maybe not but it makes my title more interesting 😜🤣
However, I still cannot explain why it can still post one comment every now and then so I have raised this issue with Steemit Inc on their GitHub account and here is the answer:
So, one or more backup witnesses are running a modified version of the Steem blockchain that is not enforcing the RC? So I went back to @ammard profile on steemd.com, checked who was the witness who signed the blocks that hold his transactions and they are all from @netuoso. One exception is @ammard's last comment who was signed by @lukestokes.mhth who is the only witness running v0.26.0 which I believe is actually v0.26.0rc1 (Release Candidate 1). A Release Candidate is a beta version that is potentially a production version ready to be released unless a major bug is found. Being unsure of whether @lukestokes.mhth has also modified his version of the blockchain or if it is a bug introduced by v0.26.0rc1 I decided respond to the Github thread that is now closed. I might have to open a new issue for this if no answer is provided. I decided to open a new ticket for more visibility: https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/3097
With @ammard now dropped from #1 of accounts encountering insufficient RC errors, my Sumo Logic dashboard is now showing a new top account:
I didn't know about @introduce.bot until today but it seems like a bot that upvotes random posts (not just #introduceyourself posts as I initially thought) at 1% of 2232 SP that makes it $0.000 STU per upvote... what's the point? It also seems that the bot is also randomly comments on the posts with the following message:
At least that one is quite useful but might be contributing to faster RC drain on its account. A look at the upvote history of the bot revealed it was upvoting at 2% in the past with a more useful upvote value of $0.03 STU. So maybe it has lost some delegations recently...
Anyway, enough playing Sherlock Holmes for today lol.

Summary of some of my other contributions
Project | Description | Link |
---|---|---|
Steemed Phish | Chrome browser extension to make external links more visible and alert you on Phishing/Scamming links | Steemed Phish |
Dtube Community Support | This project by @evildido allows users to run their own IPFS node and pin videos in order to cache them for longer. Dtube has the tendency of deleting non-popular video after few days only. I helped Dockerizing the project for an easier deployment on almost any platform. I've also contributed by running two nodes, one in Australia and one in Canada to cache #teamaustralia and #teamnz videos. | Dockerizing Dtube Community Support |
DiscoSteem Bot | This is a Discord/Steem bot project by @planetenamek. When I started Steemulant Bot for the Vietnamese community, I didn't know the existence of DiscoSteem Bot and wanted something written in NodeJS. I've ended up continuing my own project as it contains code and logic for personal use and for the Vietnamese community. But I've decided to share some useful features that can benefit the users of DiscoSteem Bot and will continue to add more functionalities as I go. | Dockerizing DiscoSteem Bot |
A Dollar A Day | This is a project run by @pennsif and will donate 15 SBD every day to a charity | "A dollar a day" fundraiser - Karaoke Singing: Le chanteur malheureux |
Team Vietnam | I started a new Vietnamese community on Discord and developed @teamvn, a community bot to help grow the Vietnamese community and help them create higher quality content. | |
POCKET-JS | This is my Javascript (NodeJS) port of the POCKET confirmer by @biophil. POCKET is an experimental crypto token on top of STEEM. | POCKET-JS Confirmer |
Skippy Bot | I've written this Discord bot for @teamaustralia, it has three main features: a level bot (like Tatsumaki but with Australian animal images), a chatter bot and a footer banner generator for both @teamaustralia, @teamnz and @steemph | Witness Update 2018-07-30 - Team Australia's Skippy Bot |
