Hello to everybody, again. On this occasion I will tell you about some characteristics that one of the most beautiful means of communication and entertainment that humans have ever been able to create: The videogame. From its distant origins in the late 70's, early 80's, this medium went through a great blow that almost destroyed it: The birth of E. T. The video game, published in 1982. But these things are the subject of another article, what matters today is something else: What are the benefits of playing video games? That's a big question, very important.
Video games were developed to entertain us, to make us "waste our time" or spend money, and yes, all these could be valid reasons. But video games also exist as a means of communication. It transmits all the reality and experience that their creators possessed, it tells us about the influences and the most striking things of the market of that time in which the game was created, it tells us feelings and thoughts that the developers had at the time of giving it life, that the graphic designers had when they created the characters, the publicists at the time of communicating to us why do we have to buy it. The video game expresses, and that is its first benefit: it helps us to understand him, tells us how he was created and for what. It serves us because it amuses, makes us laugh or angry, disconnect and enter a purely virtual world. It serves us well because it gives us stories that are totally impossible in the world we know, or at least unlikely.

The video game works because it gives us a bond. Playing benefits us because it gives us a position. Decades ago, before my birth, playing was synonymous of weakness, with laziness, and society had framed those who played like weirdos, people in society who didn't fit in with normal entertainments, like football, movies, smoking or dancing at the disco. The kids who played them were bullied at school. But why does it pay to play? Because playing unites those who play. Everyone ends up becoming a part of a community, and unity is the strength. Because playing teaches people how to manage themselves in a stressful environment, how to manipulate themselves and get to know an environment, how to improve their peripheral vision and how to aspire and fight for more and more.

The video game benefits us because it is also a means of entertainment for the youngest people today, and yet it is able to stand up to cinema and literature. With great works, such as Gears of War, Pokemon, Earthbound, Fallout, Half Life, the video game is gradually opening up in its struggle to be a means of more reliability. And it's already remarkable that he does it.
The video game benefits us, because it represents what we are inside ourselves. Champions, warriors, cooks, doctors, soldiers, everything we want to be, our desires for life, our way of venting, we must only know how to search.
