Para pendagang menjajakan dagangannya di teras pasar atau bahkan di sisi jalan raya. Aktifitas jual beli ini ada yang mulai berlangsung harian atau per pekan. Ada yang dimulai subuh, pagi, menjelang, siang atau bahkan sore hari.

Seperti mengabaikan keselamatan pedagang dan juga pembeli, mereka nekat bertransaksi di pinggir jalan raya. Jalan yang dipakai sebagai lapak berdagang benar-benar jalan paling sibuk dan padat di Provinsi Aceh. Jalan ini yang menghubungkan Aceh dengan Sumatera Utara dan provinsi lainnya. Inilah Jalan Trans Sumatera.
