El evangelio de san Mateo 12, 46-50 es uno de los mas polémicos de las sagradas escrituras, ha sido causa de múltiples discusiones e interpretaciones por la rudeza con la que responde Jesús ante el anuncio de la llegada de su madre y sus hermanos; en mi comentario de hoy, no pretendo ahondar si eran verdaderamente hermanos del Mesías los que llegaron con María o simplemente eran parientes. Para mí lo importante no es que si la Virgen María tuvo más hijos o no los tuvo; o si los supuestos hermanos de Jesús, que menciona el evangelista, eran hijos o no de José, en caso de serlos; entonces, serían hermanastros de Jesús. Lo cierto es que la frase dicha por Jesucristo es lo mas importante: ***todo el que cumple la voluntad de mi Padre... ése es mi hermano, mi hermana y mi madre”.*** Al cumplir los mandamientos de la Ley de Dios, siendo fieles a la palabra de Jesús, nos convertimos en hermanos del Mesías, gran privilegio que solo pocas personas saben valorar. Ahora bien; existe una realidad ineludible, todos somos creados por Dios por lo tanto somos sus hijos, el mismo Jesús de Nazaret nos enseñó a orar: ***"Ustedes, pues, oren así: Padre nuestro, que estás en el cielo, santificado sea tu nombre, venga tu Reino, hágase tu voluntad en la tierra como en el cielo...."*** (San Lucas 11:2-13) Llamar Padre a Dios, es lo mas grande y maravilloso que nos ha pasado a los cristianos. Jesús de Nazaret, el Unigénito del Padre, al enseñarnos esa maravillosa oración, nos hizo partícipe de la familia celestial. Todos somos criatura de Dios, solo que algunos se han alejado de Él, otros se han olvidado de su Creador y otros han desviado su camino para no volver a su encuentro; por esa razón, y por el inmenso amor del Padre por sus creación humana, envió a su Unigénito para salvar a la raza humana: > ***"Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que dio a su Hijo único, para que todo aquél que cree en El, no se pierda, sino que tenga vida eterna".*** (Juan 3:16) La respuesta de Jesús no desmerita a su madre ni a sus parientes, como pretenden hacerlo ver los detractores de María, sino que deja claro que; si bien es cierto, que existe una familia consanguínea que es muy importante, también existe una familia afin que es sustancial y tan valiosa como la consanguínea; en este caso la familia cristiana universal, que ama, respeta y acepta a Dios como el Padre Creador, Todopoderoso, Omnisciente y Omnipresente que es Amor Supremo y Eterno.

However; there is an inescapable reality, we are all created by God therefore we are his children, Jesus of Nazareth himself taught us to pray: ***"You, then, pray like this: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name, your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven..."*** (Saint Luke 11:2-13) Calling God Father is the greatest and most wonderful thing that has happened to us Christians. Jesus of Nazareth, the Only Begotten of the Father, by teaching us that wonderful prayer, made us part of the heavenly family. We are all creatures of God, it is just that some have moved away from Him, others have forgotten their Creator and others have diverted their path so as not to return to meet Him; For that reason, and because of the Father's immense love for his human creation, he sent his Only Begotten Son to save the human race: > ***"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life."*** (John 3:16) Jesus' response does not discredit his mother or his relatives, as Mary's detractors would like to make him see, but rather makes it clear that; Although it is true that there is a consanguineous family that is very important, there is also a related family that is substantial and as valuable as the consanguineous one; in this case the universal Christian family, which loves, respects and accepts God as the Creator Father, Almighty, Omniscient and Omnipresent who is Supreme and Eternal Love.

Pero él respondió al que se lo decía: “¿Quién es mi madre y quiénes son mis hermanos?” Y señalando con la mano a sus discípulos, dijo: “Éstos son mi madre y mis hermanos.
