Although it may not seem like it, the basic vanilla cake is one of my most loved desserts, it is a basic mixture for a soft, spongy, exquisite and aromatic cake, this dessert should represent all the goodness in its simplicity, for me it is very important that it is delicious because it is my dad's favourite dessert, and it is also the favourite of many friends who love vanilla cake without fillings or decorative creams, today I share with you a good, easy and tasty recipe for this traditional homemade dessert.

I must also say that vanilla cake is the first challenge that every cake lover must successfully unlock, as this recipe is the basis for many others, it is the classic recipe that we usually make for the first time.

INGREDIENTS - One cup of soft butter, at room temperature - One and a half cups of refined white sugar - Three eggs at room temperature - One tablespoon vanilla - One cup of water - Two tablespoons of powdered milk - Three cups of leavened wheat flour - One teaspoon baking soda - One tablespoon vinegar - 1/3 chocolate couverture, unsweetened, finely chopped (optional) - Zest of one lemon (optional) PREPARATION OF THE CAKE ✓ I did the whole procedure with a balloon or hand mixer, you can also do it with an electric mixer or stand mixer, just remember not to beat the mixture for a long time, just enough to mix and integrate the ingredients well. ✓ Have the tray or mould ready to pour the mixture, buttered and floured, or with waxed paper, this recipe is perfect for a 24cm x 6cm mould. ✓ Preheat the oven to 170 degrees, then you can raise the temperature if your oven does not apply heat very quickly, remember that not all ovens are the same, and it is necessary that we know the way our oven applies heat. ✓ You can choose not to preheat the oven, but that requires me to explain when this can be done, for the moment, this recipe can be done in the traditional way and preheat the oven about ten minutes before starting to bake the cake.

We start to cream the butter with the sugar, add these two ingredients and beat until the butter lightens a little.

Then add the eggs, one by one and mix, add the water and vanilla and mix everything together. Add the dry ingredients: powdered milk, flour and baking soda, mix and finally add the vinegar (I use apple cider vinegar).

You can add the chocolate chips or lemon zest, whichever you choose will be very good, I added bitter chocolate couverture and mixed it all together.

Pour the mixture into a cake tin, cook for about 40 minutes if you use the oven, if you cook it on the cooker it cooks faster (30 minutes), always check if the cake is ready, with a wooden stick or with a knife check that the cake is not raw, when you take it out of the oven it rests for a while before unmoulding.

The aroma is extremely pleasant, I love how simple and appetising this dessert is.

Torta de Vainilla

Aunque no lo parezca, la torta basica de vainilla es una de mis más amados postres, es una mezcla básica para una torta suave, esponjosa, exquisita y aromática, este postre debe representar todo lo bueno en su sencillez, para mi es muy importante que sea delicioso porque es el postre favorito de mi papá, y también es el preferido de muchos amigos que les encanta la torta de vainilla sin rellenos ni cremas decorativas, hoy les comparto una buena receta fácil y sabrosa de este tradicional postre casero.

También debo decir que la torta de vainilla es el primer reto que todo amante de la pastelería debe desbloquear con éxito, puesto que esta receta es la base de muchas otras, es la clásica que generalmente hacemos por primera vez.

INGREDIENTES - Una taza de mantequilla suave, a temperatura ambiente (mantequilla pomada). - Una taza y media de azúcar blanca refinada - Tres huevos a temperatura ambiente - Una cucharada de vainilla - Una taza de agua - Dos cucharadas de leche en polvo - Tres tazas de harina de trigo leudante - Una cucharadita de bicarbonato - Una cucharada de vinagre - 1/3 de cobertura de chocolate, sin azúcar, en trocitos pequeños (opcional) - Ralladura de un limón (opcional) ELABORACIÓN DE LA TORTA ✓ Todo el procedimiento lo hice con un globo o batidor manual, también puedes hacerlo con la batidora eléctrica o de pedestal, solo debes recordar no batir por mucho tiempo la mezcla, sólo lo suficiente para mezclar e integrar bien los ingredientes. ✓ Tener lista la bandeja o molde para vaciar la mezcla, enmantequillada y enharinada, o con papel encerado, esta receta es perfecta para un molde de 24cm x 6cm. ✓ Precaliente el horno a 170 grados, luego le puede subir la temperatura si su horno no aplica el calor muy rápido, recuerden que no todos los hornos son iguales, y es necesario que conozcamos la forma en que nuestro horno aplique el calor. ✓ Puedes optar por no precalentar el horno, pero eso amerita que les explique en qué ocasiones se pueda hacer, por los momentos, esta receta puede hacerla de la forma tradicional y hacer un precalentado del horno unos diez minutos antes de comenzar la cocción de la torta.

Comenzamos a cremar la mantequilla con el azúcar, unimos estos dos ingredientes y batimos hasta que la mantequilla aclare un poco.

Luego añadimos los huevos, uno a uno y mezclamos, agregamos el agua y la vainilla, vamos mezclando todo. Le colocamos los ingredientes secos: leche en polvo, la harina y el bicarbonato, mezclamos y por último añadimos el vinagre (yo utilizo vinagre de manzana)

Puedes colocarle los trocitos de chocolate o ralladura de limón, cualquiera que elijas quedará muy bien, yo le agregue cobertura de chocolate amargo y se mezcla todo.

Vaciar la mezcla en un molde para tortas, cocinamos por 40 minutos aproximadamente si utilizamos el horno, si la cocinas sobre la estufa su cocción es más rápida (30 minutos), siempre hay que verificar si está lista la torta, con un palito de madera o con un cuchillo comprobamos que la torta no quede cruda, al sacarla del horno se reposa un ratito antes de desmoldarla.

El aroma es sumamente agradable, me encanta lo sencillo y apetecible de este postre.
