Una sera Luca scende a buttare la spazzatura, ma quando cerca di rientrare nella sua casa, al 20° piano di un palazzone di periferia, scopre che nel suo appartamento ci abita un'altra persona e che la sua vita, come era fino a qualche momento prima, non esiste più. Cominciano da questo momento per Luca nuove ed inaspettate avventure che si mischiano ai ricordi della sua vecchia vita. ---- Postilla Questa storia allucinata e stramba ha bisogno di una spiegazione ulteriore nel caso qualcuno, oltre a me e Luca si ritrovasse a leggerla. Da quando è uscito dal coma Luca ha voluto raccontarmi tutte le stranissime cose che ha vissuto come fossero vere durante i giorni passati immobile nel suo letto d'ospedale. Ricordava ancora tutto in modo nitido e molto dettagliato ed ha voluto raccontarlo prima che tutto sparisse dalla sua testa, per fermare questa storia come una fotografia sulla carta, per poi poterla riguardare ogni volta che, in futuro, ne sentirà il bisogno. Io ho registrato i suoi racconti e, come lui mi ha chiesto, li ho trascritti in questo libro. Ora Luca sembra stare meglio, raccontare tutta questa storia lo ha anche aiutato a sfogarsi, visto che oltre al trauma cranico che l'ha tenuto in coma per tutto questo tempo ha ancora numerose fratture e alcune ferite da recuperare ed è ancora immobile a letto anche se sveglio e vigile. Quello che mi ha fatto venire le lacrime agli occhi mentre ascoltavo il suo racconto e mentre lo trascrivevo è questa sua voglia, appena uscirà dall'ospedale, di cominciare una nuova vita, quella che Luca chiama la sua seconda vita. Vuole lasciare il lavoro e ricominciare a suonare, vuole seguire quella che per lui è la sua strada, come dice sempre da quando si è risvegliato. Ho pianto, ma non ho trovato il coraggio di dirgli la verità e ancora non so come dirglielo, perché di dirglielo di persona non credo avrò mai il fiato, come non avrò il cuore di spiegargli perché non gliene ho parlato subito. Moltissime delle sensazioni che sono entrate nel suo racconto erano dovute a fattori esterni, quasi tutto quello che ha vissuto nella sua testa durante il coma era una trasfigurazione di quello che avveniva intorno a lui nella realtà. Come avviene quando viviamo un sogno notturno, anche Luca ha cercato di giustificare i rumori, la musica che sentiva, le terapie che gli facevano, gli odori, i sapori, i suoni. Tutto quanto veniva filtrato e rielaborato dal suo cervello per creare una storia incredibile ma congruente coi messaggi inviati dagli organi di senso, anche se la storia avveniva solo nella sua mente. Una delle tante sensazioni che Luca ha rielaborato era il fortissimo dolore che aveva alla mano destra. Amore, te lo scrivo qui, perché non ho e non avrò mai il coraggio di dirtelo a voce. Quella mano destra che tu hai immaginato di esserti fatto male chiudendo malamente il coperchio del cassonetto, in realtà te l'ha maciullata il cristallo della porta crollandoti addosso, quando lo hai sfondato con la testa. In ospedale te l'hanno ricucita, con un intervento difficile. Sicuramente potrai fare altre operazioni, forse riuscirai a riacquistare, almeno in parte, l'uso delle dita che per ora non puoi muovere. Quello che non posso dirti guardandoti negli occhi e ciò che riguarda il fatto di suonare, sicuramente non potrai mai più suonare. Non potrai mai più suonare nessuno strumento perché la tua mano non potrà mai più essere in grado di fartelo suonare. Purtroppo nella tua seconda vita dovrai fare altro, perché quello che ora tu hai in mente, non sarà possibile. Ora ti consegno questa bozza del libro che hai voluto scrivere e aspetterò che tu sappia da queste poche righe, che io ho aggiunto, quello di cui ancora nessuno ti ha parlato e di cui, per ora, non hai ancora avuto modo di accorgerti. ---- ...continua ----

He still remembered everything in a clear and very detailed way and he wanted to tell it before it all disappeared from his head, to stop this story like a photograph on paper, to then be able to look at it every time, in the future, he feels the need. I recorded his stories and, as he asked me, I transcribed them in this book. Now Luca seems to be better, telling all this story has also helped him to let off steam, since in addition to the head injury that has kept him in a coma all this time he still has numerous fractures and some wounds to recover and is still immobile in bed. if awake and alert. What brought tears to my eyes while I was listening to his story and while I was writing it down is this desire for him, as soon as he comes out of the hospital, to start a new life, what Luca calls his second life. He wants to leave his job and start playing again, he wants to follow what for him is his path, as he has always said since he woke up. I cried, but I didn't find the courage to tell him the truth and I still don't know how to tell him, because I don't think I'll ever have the breath to tell him in person, just as I won't have the heart to explain to him why I didn't tell him immediately. Many of the sensations that entered his story were due to external factors, almost everything that lived in his head during the coma was a transfiguration of what was happening around him in reality. As happens when we live a nocturnal dream, Luca also tried to justify the noises, the music he heard, the therapies they gave him, the smells, the flavors, the sounds. Everything was filtered and reworked by his brain to create an incredible story but congruent with the messages sent by the sense organs, even if the story only took place in his mind. One of the many sensations that Luca reworked was the tremendous pain he had in his right hand. Love, I am writing to you here, because I do not have and will never have the courage to tell you verbally. That right hand that you imagined you hurt by badly closing the lid of the bin, in reality it mangled the glass of the door collapsing on you, when you smashed it with your head. In the hospital they stitched it up for you, with a difficult operation. Surely you will be able to do other operations, perhaps you will be able to regain, at least in part, the use of your fingers that you cannot move for now.
