**PARTE 1:** La abuela de Adam era horrible, pero no como todos los viejitos arrugados por naturaleza, pues tenía un espíritu maligno; ella creía que con su dulce apariencia de viejecita indefensa iba a engañarlos a todos. En su habitación tenía sus poquísimas pertenencias: una lámparita, una biblia, sus pantuflas, lentes, bastón, silla de ruedas y esos espejos antiguos de marcos elaborados con figuras y dibujos raros. Eran dos espejos: uno que dejaba en la mesita de noche, mediano como de unos 20cm por 15cm borde dorado y el otro más grande de un metro de largo que colgaba en la pared que daba a la salida de la habitación. Mariana limpiaba todo muy bien con vinagre y dejaba los vidrios muy brillantes y la superficie de los marcos con trapos secos y así lograba mantener como nuevos aquellos espejos que contenían el infierno mismo dentro; una especie de club perpetuo de inválidos, viejas hechiceras, demonios holgazanes que esperaban llenarse de las más bajas frecuencias del dolor, sufrimiento, quejas, enfermedad, mentiras, envidia y pare de contar de las cosas que se vivían estando cerca de la señora Lucrecia. La abuelita tenía pacto con el infierno. Con su forma de ser tan teatral, gentilmente dulce y sonriente conseguía de algún modo que a su alrededor rompiera todo ambiente entre los límites de todas distancias en el sentimiento, no había forma de conectar con ella porque la consecuencia era una enorme y extremada sensibilidad para los sufrimientos; era la resistencia al padecimiento insoportable prácticamente, la infelicidad que había a su alrededor solo la llenaba de placer, no había forma de oponerse al mal o a la desgracia, la única opción era resistir. Adam tenía esposa y tres hijos, vivían en la ciudad algo cerca de donde vivía su abuelita, madre de su madre. No la visitaba mucho, aun sin tanta conexión con ella, la mantenía sana y salva y con todos las comodidades que él podía pagar. ---

Una mañana cuando fue a llevarle víveres y remedios a la abuela, encontró a las mujeres en el patio delantero de la casa, alteradas, totalmente asustadas y con la negativa de entrar de nuevo a esa casa; cuando les preguntó qué había pasado Victoria trató de explicarle lo que vio en la habitación mientras Mariana limpiaba como de costumbre el espejo grande colgado a la pared. - Vi a la abuela con un espejo pequeño apuntando a donde estaba Mariana de frente al espejo grande, pero de la conexión entre los dos espejos pude ver fluir una fuente que entraba y salía de manchas color sangre que flotaba en el aire y mientras sucedía esa transferencia de un espejo a otro la existencia de Mariana se marchitaba, se debilitaba, enflaquecía ¡era horrible! corrí y pude quitarla de ese espacio y de un fuerte empujón con la escoba cayó al piso lejos de ahí, luego salimos y no hemos vuelto a entrar a la casa. Mariana tirada en el césped pálida, temblorosa y con la mirada perdida, sudando frío dijo: - Era como estar en el borde de un abismo, me sentí como dormida y que no podía despertar, perdía la fuerza, no podía moverme, Victoria me hizo regresar, me volvió a este mundo.
