Liga de ajedrez Chess Brothers cuarta temporada "Juega ajedrez y mantente en forma" - Convocatoria

¡Qué bueno estar de vuelta a los tableros! La verdad es que hemos tenido una pausa bastante prolongada desde que culminó la tercera temporada, pero esto ha sido solo para recargar las baterías y estar más fuertes. Muchos se estaban preguntando qué había pasado con la liga CB y, pues bien, estamos aquí lanzando la temporada número cuatro.

Noticias de ajedrez - las razones tras la pausa

La verdad es que hemos estado ocupados con otras iniciativas, tales como el **Chess Brothers Podcast**, en el cual discutimos asuntos del ajedrez y el deporte mundial. Hablando de ello, antes de adentrarnos en los pormenores de esta nueva convocatoria, aprovechamos para repasar los últimos acontecimientos en materia ajedrecística. Los fans del ajedrez estamos esperando con ansias el venidero **Torneo de candidatos de la FIDE** que está por celebrarse en España, en el Palacio de Santoña desde el 16 de junio hasta el 5 julio de este año. Ya conocemos los nombres de los contendientes: 1. Ian Nepomniachtchi (Rusia) 2. Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaiyán) 3. Jan-Krzysztof Duda (Polonia) 4. Alireza Firouzja (Francia) 5. Fabiano Caruana (Estados Unidos) 6. Hikaru Nakamura (Estados Unidos) 7. Richárd Rapport (Hungría) 8. Ding Liren (China) La noticia sensacional fue la **expulsión de Sergey Karjakin** de este grupo por causa de una sanción disciplinaria de la FIDE como consecuencia de las polémicas declaraciones del jugador en torno al conflicto Rusia-Ucrania, algo que en nuestra opinión fue extremista, pues se politiza nuestro deporte, pero a los ojos de la FIDE se trató de prácticamente **una decisión de negocios**. Lo cierto es que Karjakin tenía 21 días para apelar la decisión, pero solo lo hizo la federación rusa. ¿Qué opinas de este asunto?

Su lugar fue ocupado por Ding Liren quien, a pesar de haber sido el tercero del ranking mundial, no tenía la cantidad necesaria de partidas jugadas, por lo que apuradamente procedió a hacerlo con la ayuda de la federación de ajedrez china. Así es, **los chinos no podían perder la oportunidad dorada para que su superestrella califique**, por lo que organizaron tres eventos a toda carrera para que Ding Liren jugara, lo que incluyó un match con su compatriota Wei Yi, el cual Ding Liren ganó por la mínima. Como resultado, no solo reunió las 40 partidas requeridas, sino que subió a las segunda posición del ranking mundial. Una jugada nada boba de parte del gigante asiático, ¿no te parece?

¿Quienes serán tus favoritos? Se han dicho **muchas cosas buenas de Alireza Firouzja**, pero, ¿podrá pasar la prueba de fuego? No es algo descabellado considerando que había llegado a la posición dos del mundo meteóricamente, solo desplazado recientemente por Ding Liren como ya indicamos, y lo hizo rompiendo records (tiene tan solo 18 años). Además, el propio Magnus Carlsen ya había logrado ganar el Torneo de candidatos en su debut allá en el 2013, y el talento y la suerte de Firouzja no se pueden quedar atrás.

La cuarta temporada

Volviendo al ajedrez de Hive. El lema escogido para esta nueva contienda de ajedrez será _Juega ajedrez y mantente en forma_, lo cual ejemplifica claramente el grito de guerra de nuestro Proyecto Chess Brothers. Así es, hay que hacer ejercicio físico también si quieres hacer mejores jugadas. En cuanto al apartado competitivo, hemos mantenido gran parte de las condiciones pasadas y solo decidimos hacer unos ligeros ajustes. El más notorio será el de implementar un nueva cuenta de Hive que nos ayudará a hacer un seguimiento más sencillo y transparente de las recompensas destinadas al torneo. Por supuesto, esta genial idea se la debemos a nuestro estimado amigo @stayoutoftherz quien fue el primero en hacer este tipo de ejercicio y con resultados satisfactorios. En ese sentido, hemos creado la cuenta @playchess para canalizar los fondos generados. Con la cuenta @chessbrotherspro haremos todas las invitaciones y recordatorios de torneos, y sus recompensas serán automáticamente almacenadas en la nueva cuenta. Decidimos dedicar el 80% de estas recompensas a la piscina de premios, esto es, 30% más que la anterior edición. Esta medida también ofrece a aquellos que quieran hacerlo una forma de apoyar el crecimiento de la piscina de recompensas. Por ejemplo, en tus posts dedicados a la liga (sean de análisis, streamings, podcasts u otros) puedes configurar como beneficiaria a la cuenta @playchess, adjudicando el porcentaje que consideres apropiado.

Echemos un vistazo a lo que nos depara esta temporada.

Sobre la participación

Como siempre, ¡todos están invitados a participar! Cualquiera con cuenta en **Lichess.org** puede unirse y ser considerado en la tabla de jugadores, excepto si ha sido expulsado (baneado). Por otra parte, **a la hora de optar a premios, es necesario que los jugadores posean una cuenta en Hive**, puesto que las recompensas serán distribuidas en los tokens que esta plataforma maneja. Puedes crearla gratuitamente en caso de no poseerla. También puedes pedir asistencia en el servidor de Discord de Chess Brothers donde gustosamente te ayudaremos. Recuerda que necesitas unirte al equipo de Chess Brothers en Lichess para poder participar en los torneos suizos. Es necesario que los jugadores con cuenta de Hive **se registren en la competencia**. Si has participado anteriormente y conocemos tu cuenta de Hive, estarás automáticamente registrado tan pronto como juegues uno de los torneos. No obstante, si es tu primera vez participando en la liga, debes indicarnos tus nombres de usuario de Hive y Lichess para poder inscribirte.

Sobre el número de torneos

Hemos aumentado el número de torneos a 10. Así es, 10 oportunidades de poder hacerte con la victoria.

Sobre el horario

Mantendremos el mismo horario. Se jugará cada domingo a las 17:00 GMT (equivalente a 3 p. m. hora de Venezuela). De existir algún cambio en los horarios, el equipo de @chessbrotherspro notificará con suficiente anticipación. **La primera ronda se jugará el venidero domingo 8 de mayo**. Estaremos informando el link al torneo próximamente.

Sobre el sistema de emparejamiento y el ritmo de juego

La organización se reserva estos ajustes. Estaremos indicando el tipo de torneo y ritmo de juego en los posts de recordatorio semanal. Por supuesto, eres libre de proponer ajustes también en los comentarios. Lo tomaremos en cuenta.

Sobre el sistema de puntuación

Nuevamente implementaremos el así llamado **Sistema Lighteye**, un sistema de puntuación donde el número de puntos depende del número de participantes válidos en cada torneo. Si, por ejemplo, el torneo tiene 20 jugadores que califican a la puntuación, se tiene que: -El primer lugar recibe 20 puntos. -El segundo lugar recibe 19 puntos. -El tercer lugar recibe 18 puntos. -... -El décimo noveno lugar recibe 2 puntos. -El vigésimo lugar lugar recibe 1 punto. Recuerda que: 1. Hay meritocrácia, pues cada quien recibe en función de lo que hizo y no es excluido de acumular puntos. 2. Los jugadores deberán esforzarse por no perderse una válida, ya que su posición en la tabla puede fluctuar bastante. Similarmente, un jugador que se haya perdido una válida tiene oportunidades de recuperarse si se las arregla para acumular muchos puntos en las próximas válidas. También destacamos lo siguiente: 1. Para poder acumular puntos por torneo, el jugador debe haber jugado por lo menos tres (3) partidas en dicho torneo. 2. Se considerará partida jugada aquella donde ambos jugadores hayan hecho por lo menos una jugada. 3. Jugadores con tres (3) partidas o más se considerarán jugadores válidos y los puntos a otorgar se determinan en función del número de ellos. 4. El poseer o no cuenta de Hive no inhabilita a los jugadores para acumular puntos. 5. Si el sistema de Lichess descalifica a un jugador en cualquiera de los torneos de modo que los resultados de ese torneo se vean afectados, los resultados de la temporada serán recomputados para tormar en cuenta los cambios.

Sobre el desempate

Si dos o más jugadores poseen la misma cantidad de puntos, se ordenarán en función de: 1. El menor número de rondas jugadas (efectividad). 2. El performance promedio.

Sobre los premios

A fin de calificar a cualesquiera de los premios, el jugador deberá: 1. Poseer cuenta de Hive. 2. Estar inscrito: En caso de que no aparezca en la lista de jugadores preinscritos y convocados (aquellos que ya han participado previamente), el jugador deberá inscribirse mediante un comentario en alguno de los posts sobre la temporada. 3. Haber jugado por lo menos el 50% de la temporada, que en este caso son cinco rondas. _Haber jugado_ significa aquí ser un jugador válido de acuerdo al apartado anterior sobre el sistema de puntuación. El fondo para los premios puede ser consultado en la wallet de @playchess. Este crecerá con base en el 80% de las recompensas obtenidas en los reportes de invitación y recordatorio, más el aporte voluntario de los hivers y cualquier otra persona que quiera ayudar. En cuanto a las categorías de premios, tenemos dos tipos: Top absoluto y premios especiales. En este último grupo encontramos los premios de: a) La mayor sorpresa y b) El mejor post. Al finalizar la cuarta temporada, el 90% de los fondos que se hayan acumulado en la wallet de la cuenta @playchess serán destinados a la premiación general, distribuida en función de los parámetros previamente explicados. El 10% restante será repartido entre los premios especiales a razón de 5% cada uno. Los premios se repartirán, claro está, tras finalizar la temporada.

TOP absoluto 🏆🏆

Se tomará en cuenta el número de puntos acumulados y la posición ocupada, de tal manera que cada quien reciba recompensas de manera proporcional a ese factor.

La mayor sorpresa 😮😮

Aquel jugador que consiga doblegar a un adversario cuyo rating sea muy superior será recompensado, pues en el ajedrez hay que valorar los progresos y esta es una excelente manera de alentar a todos los ajedrecistas de cualquier nivel. Al finalizar la temporada se computarán los datos para extraer las diferencias de rating entre los jugadores de todas las partidas válidas disputadas. Se premiará a aquella que posea la mayor diferencia y cuyo vencedor haya sido el jugador de menor rating, lógicamente. Para que la partida sea válida debe haber sido disputada, es decir, que se haya desarrollado naturalmente y no se gane por forfeit. Recordemos que se trata de "la mayor sorpresa", por lo que debemos mantener ese espíritu. La organización escogerá y dará a conocer la partida ganadora al finalizar la temporada y se premiará al vencedor.

El mejor post 🧾🧾

Para reconocer la participación y la creación de contenido de ajedrez queremos premiar a aquellos hivers que realizen un post al respecto. En él puede analizar una partida de la liga, hacer streaming del torneo, analizar los resultados, hacer predicciones de los futuros ganadores, etc. Pueden postular un post por torneo jugado. Para participar deben compartir el link de sus post en los reportes semanales de la liga que se publican con esta cuenta (@Chessbrotherspro). Además, al ser esta temporada jugada bajo el lema _Juega ajedrez y mantente en forma_, puedes compartir tus rutinas de ejercicios como parte de la preparación a los torneos. Los posts seleccionados serán apoyados con upvotes y el artículo más elaborado recibirá adicionalmente el 5% del fondo de premios. Por supuesto, se recompensará el trabajo super creativo. El autor del post debe haber jugado en un mínimo de cinco (5) válidas para poder optar al premio.

It's good to be back on the chess boards! The truth is that we have had quite a long break since the end of season 3, but this has been just to recharge our batteries and get stronger. Many were wondering what happened to the CB league and, well, here we are launching season 4.

Chess news - the reasons after the break

The truth is that we have been busy with other initiatives, such as the **Chess Brothers Podcast**, in which we discuss chess and world sport topics. Speaking of which, before getting into the details of this new call, let's take the opportunity to review the latest developments in chess. Chess fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming **FIDE Candidates Tournament** to be held in Spain, at the Palace of Santoña from June 16 to July 5 of this year. We already know the names of the contenders: 1. Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia) 2. Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan) 3. Jan-Krzysztof Duda (Poland) 4. Alireza Firouzja (France) 5. Fabiano Caruana (USA) 6. That's right, **the Chinese could not miss the golden opportunity for their superstar to qualify**, so they organized three events at full speed for Ding Liren to play, including a match with compatriot Wei Yi, which Ding Liren won by the narrowest of margins. As a result, he not only collected the required 40 games, but moved up to the 2nd position in the world rankings. Not a foolish move on the part of the Asian giant, don't you think?

Who will be your favorite? A **lot of good things have been said about Alireza Firouzja**, but can he pass the acid test? It's not far-fetched considering that he reached the world's 2nd position meteorically, only recently displaced by Ding Liren as we already indicated, and he did it by breaking records (he is only 18 years old). Season 4

Coming back to chess on Hive. The motto chosen for this new chess contest will be _Play Chess and Stay Fit_, which clearly exemplifies the rallying cry of our Chess Brothers Project. That's right, you have to do physical exercise too if you want to make better moves. As for the competitive section, we have kept much of the past conditions and only decided to make some slight adjustments. The most noticeable one will be to implement a new Hive account that will help us keep track of the rewards destined to the league more easily and transparently. Of course, we owe this great idea to our dear friend @stayoutoftherz who was the first to do this kind of exercise and with satisfactory results. In that sense, we have created the account @playchess to channel the funds generated. With the @chessbrotherspro account we will do all the invitations and tournament reminders, and your rewards will be automatically stored in the new account. We decided to dedicate 80% of these rewards to the prize pool, that is 30% more than the previous edition. This measure also offers those who want to do so a way to support the growth of the reward pool. For example, in your posts dedicated to the league (analysis, streamings, podcasts or others) you can set as beneficiary the @playchess account, allocating the percentage you consider appropriate.

Chess Brothers League Season 4 Rules

Let's take a look at what this season has in store.

On participation

As always, everyone is invited to participate! Anyone with an account on **Lichess.org** can join and be considered in the players' table, except if they have been banned. On the other hand, **when it comes to the prizes, it is necessary for players to have an account on Hive**, since the rewards will be distributed on the tokens that this platform manages. You can create one for free if you do not have one. You can also ask for assistance on the Chess Brothers Discord server where we will gladly help you. Remember that you need to join the Chess Brothers team on Lichess in order to participate in Swiss tournaments. It is necessary that players with a Hive account **register for the competition**. If you have participated before and we know your Hive account, you will be automatically registered as soon as you play one of the tournaments. However, if this is your first time participating in the league, you must tell us your Hive and Lichess usernames in order to register.

On the number of tournaments

We have increased the number of tournaments to 10. That's right, 10 chances to win.

On the Schedule

We will keep the schedule. It will be played every Sunday at 17:00 GMT (equivalent to 3 pm Venezuela time). If there is any change in the schedule, the @chessbrotherspro team will notify in advance. **The first round will be played on Sunday, May 8**. We will be informing the link to the tournament soon.

On the pairing system and time control

The organization reserves these adjustments. We will be indicating the type of tournament and time control in the weekly reminder posts. Of course, you are free to propose adjustments also in the comments. We will take it into account.

On the scoring system

Again we will implement the so-called **Lighteye System**, a scoring system where the number of points depends on the number of valid participants in each tournament. If, for example, the tournament has 20 players who qualify to score, it follows that: -First place receives 20 points. -Second place receives 19 points. -Third place receives 18 points. -... -The nineteenth place receives 2 points. -The twentieth place receives 1 point. Remember that: 1. There is meritocracy, since everyone receives according to what he/she did and is not excluded from accumulating points. 2. Players should strive not to miss a round, as their position in the table can fluctuate quite a bit. Similarly, a player who has missed a round has a chance to recover if he/she manages to accumulate a lot of points in the next rounds. We also note the following: 1. In order to accumulate points per tournament, the player must have played at least three (3) games in that tournament. 2. A game will be considered played when both players have made at least one move. 3. Players with three (3) or more games will be considered valid players and the points to be awarded will be determined according to the number of them. 4. Owning or not a Hive account does not disqualify players from accumulating points. 5. If the Lichess system disqualifies a player in any of the tournaments so that the results of that tournament are affected, the results of the season will be recomputed to take into account the changes.

On the tiebreak

If two or more players have the same number of points, they will be ordered according to: 1. The least number of rounds played (effectiveness or round played ratio). 2. The average performance.

On the awards

In order to qualify for any of the prizes, the player must: 1. Possess Hive account. 2. Be registered: In case he/she does not appear in the list of pre-registered and called players (those who have already participated previously), the player must register by posting a comment in one of the posts about the season. 3. Have played at least 50% of the season, which in this case is 5 rounds. "Have played" here means to be a valid player according to the previous section on the scoring system. The prize fund can be consulted in the @playchess wallet. This will grow based on 80% of the rewards obtained in the invitation and reminder reports plus the voluntary contribution of hivers and anyone else who wants to help. As for the categories of prizes, we have two types: Absolute Top and special prizes. In this last group we find the prizes for: a) The greatest upset and b) The best post. At the end of the season 4, 90% of the funds accumulated in the wallet of the @playchess account will be destined to the general award, distributed according to the previously explained parameters. The remaining 10% will be distributed among the special prizes at a rate of 5% each. The prizes will be distributed, of course, after the end of the season.

The number of points accumulated and the position held will be taken into account, so that each person will receive rewards in proportion to this factor.

The greatest upset 😮😮

The player who manages to beat an opponent whose rating is much higher will be rewarded, because in chess progress must be valued and this is an excellent way to encourage all chess players of any level. At the end of the season the data will be computed to extract the rating differences between players of all valid games played. The game with the highest difference will be awarded and the winner will be the player with the lowest rating, logically. For the game to be valid, it must have been played, that is to say, it must have been played naturally and not won by forfeit. Let's remember that this is "the greatest upset", so we must keep that spirit. The organization will choose and announce the winning game at the end of the season and the winner will be awarded.

The best post 🧾🧾

To recognize the participation and creation of chess content we want to reward those hivers who make a post about it. In it you can analyze a league game, stream the tournament, analyze the results, make predictions of the future winners, etc. You can post one post per tournament played. To participate you must share the link of your post in the weekly league reports that are published with this account (@Chessbrotherspro). Also, as this season is played under the motto _Play Chess and Stay Fit_ you can share your exercise routines as part of the preparation for the tournaments. Selected posts will be supported with upvotes and the most elaborated article will receive an additional 5% of the funds at the end of the league. Of course, super creative work will be rewarded. The author of the post must have played in a minimum of five (5) rounds to be eligible for the prize.
