Good and real friends are really hard to come by and when you're lucky to have one, the best thing to always do is hold them tight and enjoy every moment with them. Without a friend, there is nothing to call a friendship and without friends in your life, we tend to live a lonely, boring, frustrating and sometimes a hard life too. Having good friends is a blessing like I always say as they always look out for you In every way possible and they impact your life greatly by your friendship. I barely have friends, but whenever I do, I always make sure I share my values with them, behave well in the society, live a Godly life and also a life full of good morals. There is a saying that says "Show me your friend and I'll tell you who you are", another one says "Bad company corrupts good manners". Which simply means, anyone you decide to choose as a friend, choose a reflection of YOU!!

I've had my own fair share of having friends that had betrayed me even when I know I can be very picky with friends but I still end up with those that just want to benefit from me and still stab me in the back. HOW I MET MY CLOSEST FRIEND My closest friend, Mojisola and I are currently in the same department and level in school (Food science and technology, 500L). We were not close until or 300L days. We do jam in classes and all but me being the quiet type of person doesn't want to go close to anyone at all because of my experiences but I had those I move with because as quiet as I can be, I don't enjoy walking on the road alone 😌. We were living very close to each other but we don't know eachother's hostel or even have numbers 😁. On a fateful day, on my way home from church vigil, I was try to adjust my bag when my phone fell face down on a big stone and that was how I became phoneless. We were on virtual lectures because that was when there was a general lockdown during COVID 19 pandemic. It was so tough that I almost missed both regulated and impromptu tests and assignments . Then I remembered that there's this girl in my department that lives close to me. I made my findings about her exact hostel and went to meet her to explain my predicament so that she could always notify me whenever we have assignments and tests so I wouldn't miss any. That was how we came on talking terms, started doing assignments and tests together, leaving for school and coming back home together and every other things related. It didn't take us a long time to connect because we have similar traits which had been helping us to understand eachother like sister's would. We became very close that sometimes I get amazed at how the me that has vowed never to have a best friend now sees a sister, friend and bestie in one person. Truly, it felt awkward at first but blending in so fast was what I didn't know how it happened and I believe it was because she received me with open arms.

I introduced her to my family and she did the same and my family adores her. We are now prayer partners, reading partners, gist partners etc..we literally partner in so many things now. I've learnt alot from her and she has really helped me academically which I'm grateful for. Her advices are real and genuine. She cares for me alot like a sister would. And to crown it all, our birthdays are just 7 days away from one another (I'll always be her big sister 😂). I thank God for making aour paths cross and blessing me with such a wonderful soul as MOJISOLA. She's indeed a rare Gem!!

In conclusion, having a friend isn't a bad idea but endeavour to have a good one who will affect your life positively. And when you find that "Good one", they encourage, challenge, motivate, improve and stand by you in all times. They don't feel jealous of your wins nor see you as a threat. Sin un amigo, no hay nada que se pueda llamar amistad y sin amigos en tu vida, tendemos a vivir una vida solitaria, aburrida, frustrante y, a veces, también difícil. Tener buenos amigos es una bendición como siempre digo, ya que siempre te cuidan de todas las formas posibles y tienen un gran impacto en tu vida a través de tu amistad. Apenas tengo amigos, pero cada vez que los tengo, siempre me aseguro de compartir mis valores con ellos, comportarme bien en la sociedad, vivir una vida piadosa y también una vida llena de buenas costumbres. He tenido mi parte justa de tener amigos que me han traicionado, incluso cuando sé que puedo ser muy exigente con mis amigos, pero aún termino con aquellos que solo quieren beneficiarse de mí y todavía me apuñalan por la espalda. CÓMO CONOCÍ A MI AMIGO MÁS CERCANO Mi amigo más cercano, Mojisola y yo estamos actualmente en el mismo departamento y nivel en la escuela (Ciencia y tecnología de los alimentos, 500L). No estuvimos cerca hasta o 300L días. Hacemos jam en clases y todos menos yo, que soy el tipo de persona callada, no quiero acercarme a nadie debido a mis experiencias, pero tuve a aquellos con los que me muevo porque, por más callada que pueda ser, no disfruto. caminando en el camino solo 😌. Vivíamos muy cerca el uno del otro, pero no conocemos el albergue del otro ni tenemos números 😁. En un fatídico día, en mi camino a casa después de la vigilia de la iglesia, estaba tratando de ajustar mi bolso cuando mi teléfono cayó boca abajo sobre una gran piedra y así fue como me quedé sin teléfono. Estábamos en conferencias virtuales porque fue cuando hubo un bloqueo general durante la pandemia de COVID 19. Fue tan difícil que casi me pierdo las pruebas y tareas reglamentarias e improvisadas. Entonces recordé que hay una chica en mi departamento que vive cerca de mí. Hice mis averiguaciones sobre su albergue exacto y fui a encontrarme con ella para explicarle mi situación para que siempre pudiera notificarme cada vez que teníamos tareas y exámenes para que no me perdiera ninguno. Así fue como comenzamos a hablar, comenzamos a hacer tareas y exámenes juntos, nos fuimos a la escuela y volvimos a casa juntos y todas las demás cosas relacionadas. No nos llevó mucho tiempo conectarnos porque tenemos rasgos similares que nos habían estado ayudando a entendernos como lo haría una hermana. Nos hicimos tan cercanos que a veces me sorprende cómo el yo que prometió nunca tener un mejor amigo ahora ve a una hermana, amiga y mejor amiga en una sola persona. La verdad se sintió raro al principio pero mezclándome tan rápido fue lo que no supe como pasó y creo que fue porque me recibió con los brazos abiertos. Se la presenté a mi familia y ella hizo lo mismo y mi familia la adora. Ahora somos socios de oración, socios de lectura, socios esenciales, etc. Literalmente, somos socios en tantas cosas ahora. He aprendido mucho de ella y realmente me ha ayudado académicamente por lo que estoy agradecido. Sus consejos son reales y genuinos. Ella se preocupa por mí mucho como lo haría una hermana. Y para colmo, nuestros cumpleaños están a solo 7 días de diferencia (siempre seré su hermana mayor 😂). Doy gracias a Dios por hacer que nuestros caminos se crucen y bendecirme con un alma tan maravillosa como MOJISOLA. ¡Ella es de hecho una gema rara! En conclusión, tener un amigo no es una mala idea, pero esfuérzate por tener uno bueno que influya positivamente en tu vida. Y cuando encuentras a ese "Bueno", te alientan, desafían, motivan, mejoran y te apoyan en todo momento. No se sienten celosos de tus victorias ni te ven como una amenaza.
