Various types of snacks from various countries have a unique taste and appearance. Now trying one of these snacks certainly makes anyone very curious about it. One of the things I am doing now is trying a new recipe that is very easy to make and of course has a very good taste.

Yellow Pumpkin Bakpao

100 grams pumpkin puree 250 grams flour 50 grams cornstarch 3 tablespoons sugar 50 ml water ¼ teaspoon baking powder 1 tablespoon margarine ¼ teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons water 1 tablespoon instant yeast

250 gram pumpkin 100 gram sugar 1 pandan leaf 30 ml coconut milk ¼ teaspoon salt vanilla powder to taste

Making Pumpkin Jam Filling

* I steamed all the pumpkins including the pumpkin for the bun skin. Steam until cooked until completely soft.

* Add the pumpkin in a saucepan and add sugar, add salt. Add thick coconut milk and pandan leaves.

* Add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch solution with enough water, this is optional. Cook until thickened and the jam is dry, Set aside until the jam is completely cool

* Knead until evenly mixed, then add water little by little and leave until soft.

* Form round again and make the shape into a pumpkin or according to taste. Then I proofing for about 1 hour so that it expands twice.

* Then steam in a steamer container covered with a cloth for about 15 to 20 minutes until cooked.

Pumpkin buns are ready to be served, serve them warm to make them more delicious, yeah buns are really delicious after steaming. I steamed all the buns but the ones I didn't enjoy or the leftovers I kept in the refrigerator. The next day when I wanted to enjoy it, I took it out and steamed it again, it still tasted the same.

The bakpau is very soft and the pumpkin puree makes this dish even more beautiful. The color is bright yellow and the filling is also very pretty. What I like the most is that the jam goes very well with the buns which are made from pumpkin too.
