Mind you, it could also imply censorship, as in bleeping out swearing etc.
That’s good. More controversy the better for that particular (debate and discussion) app name. So some people who want that will still come by to see what’s up. And others who don’t want that will be angry that is does, so they’ll come by to challenge it or what not. And in the end, “the truth will set you free.”
I’m still planning to offer the Satyagraha name as an alternative domain name for accessing the project. Indians or those who want to express support for that concept and away from the typical mass market memes naming, can use that name instead. Perhaps that is the single name that best expresses the project holistically.
So I'm wondering, are you now considering "impact" names such as Bleep and Yoda over ones that reflect the qualities of being decentralized, permanent, disruptive and other technical features?
It’s nearly impossible to think of names that precisely convey a decentralized technological meaning. The only such terms I know of are allodial title and peer or more specifically peer-to-peer. But that doesn’t seem to be a very compelling need in the market. Users want to achieve certain goals and they don’t want some complex thought process linking a decentralization concept to the goals they want to achieve.
I’m trying to capture the concept of the antithesis of a tragedy-of-the-commons in terms of needs and applications.
My immediate take was that Boonus sounds like "Bonus" and I noted too "boon", as in suggesting various benefits etc. Actually it's growing on me after initial reservations.
It’s has archaic associations because of the implication of a bonus. Someone remarked, “reminds me of bonuses at clothing stores and such.” I replied, “you’re not reasoning through it and just taking the strong association to bonus as the implied meaning, which admittedly most people may do on first impression. However, a boon is typically a genuine benefit as defined, ‘something that is very helpful and improves the quality of life.’”
It’s cheesy (corny) and might connote for some a not-as-eloquent imitation of Groupon. Groupwise ROI is going to evoke suspicions of another MLM scam. Because other than (or should I say even including) society in general, typically collective action is never mutually beneficial for all.
Nevertheless I think it states clearly the concept of a collective inverse (i.e. cornucopia or cornco-opia) of the commons. A boon is not limited to monetary fruits, yet the bonus connotation will imply monetary incentives.
Yeah, Oodles is another I like. A playful suggestion of a cornucopia! I agree that it might be preferable for it to be applied generically rather than lots of different names for each media type.
Michelle initially didn’t like that name verbally, but when she saw it written she really liked it. She said she didn’t like it initially because I was suggesting it for the overall project name. For games, she really likes it.

I prefer it over prior ideas such as Hypermesh, Hypernet and Bitnet, because it has a predefined apropos meaning.
First of all, I'm pleased you've abandoned "one name fits all".
It seems very difficult to convey all meanings, target all demographics, and address all market needs with one name.
I desired one name for the project for cohesive branding and to reduce confusion. The project’s impacts are potentially too extensive to accommodate that goal, when including all the user facing applications of the decentralized ledger.

Bleeep - I like using "bleeped out" to convey the ability to discuss controversial or censored subjects. The triple E's aren't ideal from a branding perspective I think, but might be worth it to get around restrictions.
The three E’s are a plan B, in case we’re unable to purchase bleep.com from Warp Records and decide we need to.
I’ve also registered the domains for your implied Bleepout suggestion as another plan B.
On the positive side, the three E’s are somewhat indicative of the extended grapheme, echomimetic vocalization when emulating a bleep out.
Hyperdata - I still like this as techy name and general umbrella term for the technology itself and the associated projects. Perhaps not a great name for everyday consumer focused content due to technicality.
I’m pleased we didn’t lose that name entirely. Might end up being the name that investors refer to during the speculative phase.
Keeper - I like this name a lot for a data storage app, makes me think of someone keeping my data safe and accessible.
I was also pleased how well that fit.
Uncommons - I think this conveys the cornucopia of the commons idea very well, and I like this name a lot. Probably my favorite of the new names.

Oodles - I like this name for more entertainment focused, mainstream apps.

The only thing that negatively jumped out at me was the “Boo” in Boonus. I understand the intent of Boon and Bonus, but even the sound of “Boo” to me plants the feeling of disapproval and antipathy. However this may be because of a background in athletics. And Boonus having that sort of “boo” sound when trying to onboard may be problematic if users immediately think of an unhappy audience.
Boo also means, “said suddenly to surprise someone.” Also there’s the famous song from Usher and Alicia Keys “My Boo”, meaning sweetheart. Being that I’m from French Creole Lousiana and I have some French ancestry, I understand that boo is a term that is derived from the French word "beau" meaning beautiful. In 18th century England it meant an admirer, usually male.
