RE: Name YOUR decentralized social network?

I added some additional feedback from others to the bottom of my prior comment which you replied to.

Consensus thus far appears to be agreement with the name ideas except Boonus is dubious.

I registered some domain names (including co-o.pt) just now for another idea to replace Boonus with a more serious name: Co-opt (also Coopt)

The etymology of co-opt (from coopto) is co- meaning together or con- meaning with suffixed with optare or optō meaning choose, select, wish or desire.

  1. To elect as a fellow member of a group, such as a committee.
  2. To commandeer, appropriate or take over.
  3. To absorb or assimilate into an established group.

Co-option means:

Co-optation also refers to the process by which a group subsumes or acculturates a smaller or weaker group with related interests; or, similarly, the process by which one group gains converts from another group by replicating some aspects of it without adopting the full program or ideal ("informal co-optation").

So Coopt would signify a movement that co-opts the existing corrupt order of things.

However, I also thought that perhaps Oodles will suffice as the portal and onboarding name, as well as its other DAPPs, because the definition implies abundance and wealth:

oo·dles
/ˈo͞odlz/
noun INFORMAL
a very great number or amount of something.
“if only I had oodles of cash”

So it seems appropriate to want to sign up to get oodles of cred.

Dialing back the proliferation of names we’re using will reduce confusion and improve recall.

Also look back at my comment where I introduced these new name choices because I’ve added some example logos for the other name ideas.
