Co-Opt

You did indicate your response is how you would react reflexively, not after deep thought.

Before reading on to your definitions, I stopped and gave my instinctive reaction first, as I tend to do this with all the name suggestions before other considerations.

My second thought was "Co-Op". For Brits this has a significant association seeing as it's a popular chain of grocery stores (Co-Operative Food) based on ethical grounds, founded back in the 1850s.

Some commonality therefore with "Cooperative investment" that you mentioned under "Meaning" in your earlier table.

I had to look up the definitions and etymology and think about it deeply for a minute to eliminate that reflexive reaction.

So by choosing this process, I'm imagining that if Co-Opt were to replace(?) Boonus as the "onboarding face of project, signup and DAPPs portal", the intended target users would be expected to think beyond an instinctive reaction - more serious and less casual?

...the word can also be used to mean subverting a corrupt aim and converting it to a beneficial one.

Yes, I think I get what you're saying.

The Co-opt name choice is definitely a much more confrontation meme. It means subverting the existing order not by coercion but by uniting together given our free will to choose. It means adopting some of the extant objects from the extant world such as the Internet, but subverting it with decentralization which offers the people the choice to destroy/subsume/disintermediate (i.e. co-opt) the extant, centralized order of things.

A form of creative destruction, and from it the Phoenix (recalling that 1988 cover of The Economist) rising from the ashes?

And relating to the demographic of "opportunists" and "evangelists" (again referring to your earlier table)? So in a sense, a self-selecting, self-identifying group who have passed

...a vocabulary and IQ test of sorts as well.

Oodles is less serious. If we want a serious meme, then Co-opt is the best for a rebellious, decentralization revolution expressed non-technologically.

When you remark that

Boonus may work with the sunrise meme.

I'm now starting to get a little confused over whether the purpose of Boonus has now changed. I felt earlier that you were suggesting it would be subsumed under Co-Opt, incorporating Oodles too, with its more frivolous pursuits of games, videos etc? Could you please clarify their relative roles since the advent of the Co-Opt idea.

Even so, what's still nagging at me is if in spite of what you say, whether Co-Opt will be the best name - dunno.

I’m very keen on the circle logo for Uncommons that resembles a ® or © symbol...Or perhaps the circle around the “un” part of the word.

Out of the two I'd probably go for the second.
