Sniffed out humans to live with 2 months ago
Woody tells all: Now I have two warm comfy places to lay my head down to sleep at night, food I have adjusted to well in fact so well when this human mum cooks I lay in the kitchen protecting the pot, that is mine!
The family I selected is a mum, dad and son (now my other brother from a different mother), who has been selected to take me for walks on the beach (because I am 4 years old and "not trained").
My interpretation of my first two months adopting this family. Went to the beach already, "brother" rode in the back of the bakkie (LUV) to assure me I would be alright since I had never been taken anywhere before. Being kept on a lead, I overheard them saying, they do not know my reaction will be. At first my head was spinning with all the new smells I hardly noticed this place was completely different to anywhere I had been.
Nose working overtime busy finding other dogs had been here, so I peed on every other plant I could see until I was firing blanks. Running from one sand dune to the next seeking out all the little plants, realized I could not see my new mum, turned back to see her standing still clicking away laughing at my reaction. This happened on the 2 visits to the beach in the last month.
Refueling at the river water I was quite thirsty, also I had run dry, onto the next campaign of researching, into grass, strange looking plants on sand dunes throwing roots out along the sand, I approached cautiously, what if it moved, crouch and sniff, no hostility so yup I peed on that too.
Eventually we reached the river where it flows out into the sea, that was fun on the river side of things, those white waves crashing in getting the old girl and myself wet not so much, we will have to try that again! Twice we visited the beach, first time so very excited some dogs on the other side of the river tried to come say hello, perhaps one day I too will run free, I know I can learn.
