A Simple Pumpkin Puree Recipe
Pumpkin Puree is the basis for most of the delicious pumpkin flavored recipes during the Autumn season. Here I will show you how to turn a whole pumpkin into a bowl of fresh pumpkin puree. It's very simple task that will result in endless recipe possibilities such as pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cheesecake or so on.
Ingredients
1 Pumpkin
Step 1: Chop & Seed
Cut the pumpkin down the middle and use an ice cream scoop to remove the guts and seeds. Save the seeds to make Roasted Pumpkin Seeds with Cinnamon Spices later.
Step 2: Slice and Roast
Slice the pumpkin in smaller chunks and place on a greased baking sheet. Roast in the oven on 350 degrees for roughly 50 minutes until the pumpkin is tender.
Step 3: Skin the Pumpkin
Peel the outer layer of skin from the pumpkin. It should come off very easy after the roasting.
Step 4: Blend It
Using a blender or food processor, mash up the pumpkin pieces until completely smooth and creamy.
Step 5: Enjoy!
