Arts as a whole have proven beyond reasonable doubt to be an effective tool for effecting social change. The role and impact arts has been demonstrated in diverse Environmental gatherings such as the Conference of Parties (COP). Artists are turning up for communities and creating works that call for global climate justice, environmental protection, etc and this explains why at The Greens, we promote Environmental Arts through our Green Art Codes Program.
The power of the language of poetry and beauty of the lines can easily melt the heart and connect it to nature.
At The Greens, we promote poetry via our Green Schools Program, Environmental Poetry Contests and Black Swagger Poetry Slam.
Via our Green Schools Program and Environmental Poetry Contests, we have registered over 50 beautiful Environmental Poems.

To survive, we need forests
No forests, no shelter
No forests, no medicine
No forests, no water

3. Environmental Change by @mr-greens
You shit, piss and pollute upstream and drink downstream. Are you not a "shithole"?
People of Mother Earth, please Change!
You pollute the air and breath the same air: isn't it insane?
Homo sapiens, change!
You litter the streets and complain about the filth.
"Chai", i beg change!
You cut the tree, eat much meat, burn the fossil and biofuels and complain about the heat but deny climate change.
Isn't this surprising? My people, change!
You reclaim the land but cry about the floods.
Where did u want the water to go to? My "contri" people change!
You want good food but promote fertilized farming.
Isn't it crazy. My brothers and sisters change!
You kill bees but till the soil and expect good harvests. "Any how e dey, change!"
You condemn and deny "canda stick" (traditional medicine) but drink modern medicine.
Where do u think the raw materials for your medicine come from? Change!
In all, you want good health in a bad environment. Well, visit a psychiatrist or Change!

Through Black Swagger Poetry Slam (BSPS), we have given over 300 Artists the opportunity to creatively showcase their work in poetry, music and spoken word meanwhile over 500,000 people have directly/indirectly participated in our different BSPS Shows.
